Mandrarossa Grillo 2025 is a dry Sicilian white wine with a clear sense of place. It comes from the area around Menfi in south-western Sicily and is made entirely from Grillo, a white grape variety closely associated with the island. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a wine for people who enjoy a bright Italian white with Mediterranean freshness rather than oak-driven richness.The grapes come from south and south-east facing vineyards on sandy and limestone soils, planted at roughly 80 to 250 metres above sea level. Mandrarossa keeps the winemaking focused on purity: a short cold maceration, fermentation in stainless steel and four months of maturation in stainless steel tanks. No oak influence is mentioned, so the wine stays clean, aromatic and driven by citrus, white and yellow fruit, and a gently spicy edge.
Falstaff awarded the 2025 vintage 90 points, fitting recognition for a Sicilia DOC Grillo with this lively, well-defined style. Serve it lightly chilled with grilled vegetables, seafood pasta, shellfish, fish dishes or roasted swordfish.
