Flavour notes
Château Belgrave 2014 opens with a dark, concentrated Bordeaux character. Aromas of black cherry, blackcurrant, cassis and plum are joined by cedar, tobacco, liquorice, mint, spices, chocolate and a touch of smoke, with graphite and cold stone in the background. On the palate it is dry, full and firmly structured. Ripe black fruit gives the wine its depth, while the entry feels creamy to velvety, supported by fine but noticeable tannins and well-integrated oak influence. The finish is long, carrying dark fruit, spice and a classic Médoc mineral edge.

Product info about Chateau Belgrave 2014
Château Belgrave 2014 is a dry red Bordeaux from the Haut-Médoc, made as the grand vin of Château Belgrave in Saint-Laurent-Médoc. The estate is a Cinquième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, yet the real interest in this bottle lies in its Médoc identity: gravel-based vineyards, Cabernet Sauvignon at the core, and a style often linked to its position close to Saint-Julien.The 2014 blend is built from 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot. After a difficult start to the growing season, the vintage benefited from an exceptional late summer, particularly helpful for later-ripening varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Bordeaux we like to point out to customers looking for a mature Haut-Médoc with structure, depth and a sense of place. Several sources place the 2014 in or around its mature drinking phase, and with only the last bottles remaining, the vintage has become all the more worthwhile to consider.
It has the natural table presence for red meat, lamb, duck, game or aged cheeses. Give it a proper glass and a little attention at the table; this is a wine with enough substance to reward that approach.
