Flavour notes
Chateau Nenin 2011 shows red and dark fruit, with raspberry, cassis, redcurrant, cherry, dark berries and plum. Around that fruit come mint, violets, peppery spice and notes of graphite or pencil shavings, followed by light toast, cocoa, forest floor, truffle and occasional hints of vanilla and roasted oak.On the palate it is medium-bodied to structured, with fresh acidity and compact tannins giving the wine a firm, fairly linear shape. The finish carries red fruit and spice, sometimes with a slightly dry, firm edge.

Product info about Chateau Nenin 2011
Chateau Nenin 2011 is the Grand Vin of Ch Nenin in Pomerol, separate from the estate's second wine, Fugue de Nenin. It is a red Bordeaux from France with a clear Right Bank signature: merlot leads the blend, while cabernet franc plays an important part in the wine's freshness, perfume and structural definition. The 2011 vintage at the estate is described less in terms of warmth and generosity, and more through tension, firmness and refinement. The merlot is noted as powerful, fleshy and fresh, while the cabernet franc is described as dense, long and refined. That combination gives this Pomerol a more compact, structured feel than a broad, lavish one.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a mature Pomerol for drinkers who appreciate Bordeaux with freshness and backbone. The estate has been part of Domaines Delon since 1997, and its vineyards on the Pomerol plateau are described as a mosaic of clay, siliceous gravel, quartz, granite, basalt stones and iron-rich crasse de fer. With only the last bottles remaining, this is a focused choice for anyone looking for a developed but still firmly built Pomerol.
Decanting for about one hour is advised. It is especially well suited to roasted red meat and game.
