Inglenook Rubicon 2018 is a serious red wine from Rutherford in Napa Valley, offered here in a 1.5 litre magnum. Rubicon is the estate's principal red wine, made as a Bordeaux-style blend led by Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and a small share of Petit Verdot.For Inglenook, 2018 was a generous and even vintage, shaped by moderate warmth and gradual ripening. That matters in a wine like this: the depth and structure are there, but the blend also keeps a sense of freshness and elegance. Eighteen months in French oak, much of it new, adds spice, polish and support to the dark-fruited core.

About INGLENOOK
Inglenook is a historic wine brand from California, United States, that has its roots in the famous Napa Valley. The brand was originally founded in 1879 by the Finnish sea captain Gustave Niebaum, who with his passion for winemaking managed to establish one of the earliest quality estates in Napa. Over the years, Inglenook has had several owners, but the estate's reputation remained long associated with high-quality wines, mainly cabernet sauvignon and merlot. Since 2011, the vineyards and estate have once again been managed under the name Inglenook, after film director Francis Ford Coppola, already the owner, succeeded in reuniting both the historic name and the estate. Characteristic for Inglenook is the focus on traditional vinification techniques and the use of grapes from its own vineyards in Rutherford, an area known for its exceptional terroir. The wines of Inglenook are often distinguished by their aging potential and balanced style, which makes the brand popular among both connoisseurs and wine enthusiasts interested in the rich Napa past.
