Flavour notes

The aromatic profile is expressive and floral, with rose, linden blossom, citrus blossom and dried flowers. Fruit notes of pear, apricot, lychee and honeydew melon are joined by lemon curd, lime zest, fennel pollen, dried ginger, almond and a subtle touch of toast.

On the palate, it is round and medium to full in body, carried by lively acidity. A waxy texture gives the wine presence, while the long finish brings back citrus, pear, spice and ginger.

Product info about Inglenook Blancaneaux 2019

Inglenook Blancaneaux 2019 is a white wine from Rutherford in Napa Valley, shaped as a white Rhône-style blend. Inglenook has produced Blancaneaux since 1999 as the white counterpart to Rubicon, and that context says a lot about its ambition: this is a carefully composed wine built around Viognier, Marsanne and Roussanne.

The fruit comes from estate vineyards, specifically the Apple and Saddle vineyards. These sites receive morning sun and benefit from afternoon cooling in the shadow of Mount St. John. That detail helps explain the wine's combination of aromatic ripeness and freshness.

Marsanne and Roussanne are described by Inglenook as bringing body and minerality, while Viognier adds aromatic lift and tropical fruit. Eight months of lees ageing, partly in stainless steel and partly in French oak, gives Blancaneaux 2019 shape and texture without taking away its lively side.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of white wine we like to introduce to customers looking beyond the usual reference points: Californian in origin, Rhône-inspired in style, and clearly gastronomic in temperament. With only the last bottles remaining, the 2019 vintage has become especially worth considering. Recognition from Decanter, James Suckling and Wine Spectator adds further weight to its reputation.

About INGLENOOK

Inglenook is a wine brand with a long history in the Napa Valley, California, United States. The origin of the estate dates back to 1879, when the Finnish captain Gustave Niebaum founded the property with the goal of producing high-quality wine following the European example. The vineyards of Inglenook are located in Rutherford, a region known for its characterful cabernet sauvignon wines and favorable climate for viticulture. Over the decades, Inglenook had various owners and periods of production, but the estate remained an established name within the American wine world. From the 1980s onward, it came under the care of film director Francis Ford Coppola, who made significant investments in both the vineyards and the historic winery to restore Inglenook's former reputation. Nowadays, Inglenook primarily produces premium red wines, with emphasis on cabernet sauvignon, merlot, and other Bordeaux variëtals. The brand emphasizes terroir and traditional winemaking techniques, with respect for the history and characteristics of the area. In this way, Inglenook plays a recognizable role within the wine tradition of Napa Valley and is appreciated by enthusiasts who want to experience American wine culture.
