Château Capbern 2019 is a red wine from Saint-Estèphe in the Médoc, with Cabernet Sauvignon clearly setting the tone. The blend is 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot, a higher Cabernet share than usual for Capbern, giving the wine the firm, structured presence associated with this appellation.Château Capbern is connected to Château Calon Ségur, and the 2019 vintage was made with a careful, classic approach: hand harvesting, sorting tables, temperature-controlled stainless-steel fermentation and 18 months of maturation, with a significant proportion of new oak barriques. That maturation supports the ripe dark fruit with notes of spice, cedar, tobacco and a clear oak influence.

Château Capbern is a French winery from the Bordeaux region, located in Saint-Estèphe. This château belongs to the classic producers of this appellation and is known for its red wines made from grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Château Capbern has a tradition that is closely linked to the wine area of the left bank of the Gironde, where powerful and structured wines are central. Since 2013, the château has been owned by the Gasqueton family, who also manage the famous Château Calon Ségur. Thanks to investments and careful vinification, the quality of the wines has noticeably improved and the estate distinguishes itself within Saint-Estèphe. Capbern wines are approachable, but also develop well after a few years of bottle aging; they are appreciated for their balance between power and finesse, often with notes of dark fruit and a fine structure thanks to the typical gravel and clay soils in this part of Bordeaux.
