About JEFFERSON'S
Jefferson's is the brainchild of Trey Zoeller and his father Chet, a famous historian specializing in bourbon. Their family has a whiskey tradition that goes back eight generations. In 1799, one of Trey's ancestors, a lady, was arrested for the production and sale of spirits. Trey founded Jefferson's in 1997 to honor this history, and to search for innovative new possibilities within the bourbon world. This is reflected in, for example, experiments with wood aging and barrels that are matured at sea. For the latter project, barrels of bourbon were placed on a ship that sailed across the ocean for six months.
