About VALDESPINO
De eerste kiemen van Bodegas Valdespino werden in 1264 gelegd, toen Don Alfonso Valdespino een landgoed in Jerez de la Frontera kreeg van Koning Alonso voor zijn hulp in de strijd tegen de Moren. Intussen is Valdespino hofleverancier van o.a. de Spaanse en Zweedse koninklijke familie. De Moscatel Promesa sherry wordt gemaakt van de moscatel de Alejandria druif die verbouwd wordt in Chipiona, het gebied dat befaamd is om zijn Moscatel. Chipiona ligt helemaal op het westerse puntje van het Jerez gebied, pal bij de Atlantische Oceaan. Als de rijpe druiven geoogst zijn worden ze voor tien dagen gedroogd. Dit geschiedt door de zon, de warme uv stralen laten de trossen al snel verkrenten waardoor ze een bepaald gedeelte van hun sap verliezen. Het sap dat wordt verkregen is daarmee wel van een unieke kwaliteit. De gehele Moscatel Promesa Jerez rijpt minimaal voor vier jaar op eiken vaten in de kelders van Valdespino.
