About OPAL NERA
Opal Nera is an Italian sambuca that stands out due to its striking, deep-dark color and smooth character. The brand was created in the late 1980s in the region around Milan and is an idea of the Rossi D'Asiago family, who have a long tradition in Italian liqueurs. Opal Nera distinguishes itself from traditional sambuca through the addition of natural extracts from, among others, black elderberries, which provide the characteristic dark color and a fruity twist to the classic aniseed flavor profile. The base remains authentic: sambuca made from distillate of green anise, star anise and other aromatic herbs, according to Italian recipe. The drink is mainly produced in Northern Italy, with the production characterized by careful selection of botanicals and a combination of traditional methods and modern technique.
