Rozes is a Portuguese producer that has been dedicated to making port wines in the Douro Valley, the famous region of origin for port, since the end of the 19th century. The brand was founded in 1855 by Ostende Rozes, a trader of French origin, who settled in Vila Nova de Gaia, right across from Porto. Here, the maturation and bottling of the wine still takes place to this day, according to traditional methods characteristic of this region. Rozes is known for its wide range of ports, including Ruby, Tawny, White, and special reserve and vintage variants. Although the family-owned company was long independent, Rozes is nowadays part of the Vranken-Pommery Monopole group, an international player in wines and sparkling drinks. The style of Rozes port is often fruity and round, with attention to balance and accessibility, making its products popular with a wide audience.
