Ricard is a well-known French brand that is mainly associated with pastis, an aniseed drink that originated in the south of France. The brand was launched in 1932 by Paul Ricard, an innovative entrepreneur from Marseille who wanted to create a mild and aromatic pastis as an alternative to absinthe, after this drink was banned in France.
