Aurum is an Italian orange liqueur whose origin dates back to the early twentieth century. The brand comes from the Abruzzo region in central Italy and is mainly associated with the city of Pescara. The name is derived from the Latin word for gold, which refers to the rich, amber-colored appearance of the drink. Aurum is produced using a secret combination of, among other things, sweet orange peels and a selection of other botanicals, resulting in a distinctive spicy and fruity profile. The liqueur is often enjoyed neat or over ice, but is also popular as an ingredient in various cocktails and even in desserts. Thanks to its pronounced yet smooth character and the relatively low alcohol content, Aurum fits well within the broad Italian tradition in which citrus liqueurs are beloved as digestifs after meals.
