About JAGERMEISTER
Jägermeister is a herbal liqueur from Germany that is often associated with the bitter category. The brand was introduced in 1935 by Curt Mast in Wolfenbüttel, Lower Saxony, where it is still produced to this day. The name Jägermeister, which literally means hunt master, refers to the hunting culture in Germany and is reflected in the logo with the deer and the cross. Jägermeister is made based on a secret recipe with 56 different herbs, flowers, roots and fruits, which results in a complex and characteristic flavor profile where bitterness, sweetness and spicy notes come together. After maceration, the extracts are processed into a distillate, after which the mixture matures in oak barrels for up to twelve months to allow the flavors to harmonize. The drink is usually served as an ice-cold shot, but is also popular as an ingrediënt in mixed drinks and cocktails. Thanks to its recognizable flavor and distinctive appearance, Jägermeister has become a globally known brand in the world of bitters and liqueurs over the past decades.
