Quinta do Vesuvio 2021 is a dry red wine from Portugal's Douro Superior, produced at Quinta do Vesúvio. It is the estate's flagship dry Douro red, alongside the Vintage Ports for which the property is historically known. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see it as a serious, structured Douro wine shaped as much by its site as by the notably cool 2021 growing season.
The blend is led by Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional, with a small addition of Tinta Amarela. The grapes were hand-harvested, carefully sorted and moved by gravity into small fermentation tanks. After fermentation, extended maceration helped build structure and mouthfeel, followed by 15 months in French oak barrels, a large proportion of them new.

Comboio do Vesúvio 2022 is a dry red Douro wine from Quinta do Vesúvio in Portugal's Douro Superior. The estate is also known for its Vintage Ports, yet this wine belongs to its range of dry reds. The name refers to the railway line and station beside the quinta, where trains have been passing since 1887.
The 2022 blend brings together Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca from selected estate parcels. The vineyards lie mostly on schist soils, ranging from about 110 to 450 metres in altitude. Grapes were hand-harvested, carefully sorted and vinified without oak ageing, keeping the wine focused on primary fruit, herbal detail and the natural expression of the Douro.

Pombal do Vesúvio 2021 is a red Douro wine from Quinta do Vesúvio in Portugal's Douro Superior. Its name refers to Vinha do Pombal, a vineyard on the estate where Touriga Nacional plays an important role. The 2021 blend is led by Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca, with small additions of Tinta Amarela and Alicante Bouschet.
The production is deliberately careful: hand-harvested grapes, manual bunch selection, gentle destemming, berry selection and fermentation in small tanks. The wine then spends 9 months in French oak barrels, but the available tasting information points to wood that stays in the background, allowing fruit, floral notes, herbs, acidity and tannin structure to define the wine.

Pombal do Vesúvio 2021 Magnum is a red Douro wine from Quinta do Vesúvio, made from selected parcels in the Douro Superior. The magnum bottle gives it a generous, table-worthy presence, while the wine itself remains closely tied to the estate, particularly to Vinha do Pombal, a vineyard set around an old traditional dovecote.
The blend is led by Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca, supported by small amounts of Tinta Amarela and Alicante Bouschet. The grapes were hand-harvested in small crates, carefully sorted, and moved by gravity into small fermentation vats. Ageing then took place for 9 months in French oak barrels of 400 and 225 litres.

Pombal do Vesúvio 2023 is the dry red side of Quinta do Vesúvio in the Douro Superior. This is not port, but a still DOC Douro red wine shaped around ripe fruit, firm structure and a clear search for elegance.
The name comes from the pombal, the old dovecote on the estate. A significant part of the wine is sourced from terraces around that site, where Touriga Nacional plays the leading role. The blend is completed with Touriga Franca, Alicante Bouschet and a small share of Tinta Amarela.
The production is deliberately careful: hand-picked grapes in small 20 kg boxes, manual sorting, gentle destemming, a second selection of the berries and gravity transfer into small fermentation tanks. The wine then spends 10 months in French oak barrels, adding (…)Quinta Do Vesuvio 2018

Quinta Do Vesuvio 2018 is a dry red Douro DOC from Portugal, made at the historic Quinta do Vesuvio estate in the Douro Superior. It is worth noting that this is the estate's still red wine, not the Vintage Port from the same house and vintage. The blend is led by Touriga Franca and Touriga Nacional, with a small proportion of Tinta Amarela.
The fruit was hand-harvested and carefully selected, first as bunches and then again as individual berries. In the cellar, the grapes were moved by gravity into small fermentation tanks, with each variety followed separately to preserve its own character. A post-fermentation maceration added structure, tannic depth and ageing potential.

Quinta Do Vesuvio Cellar Release 2015 is a Portuguese red wine from the Douro Superior with a story that goes beyond a standard vintage release. Part of the original 2015 stock was kept back by the producer under cellar conditions and released later as a limited Cellar Release of around 2,400 individually numbered bottles.
The wine comes from the historic Quinta do Vesúvio estate, where the house, chapel and winery were built in 1827. Its blend is led by Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca, with a small share of Tinta Amarela. The fruit comes from estate parcels at altitude and with western exposure, including Quinta Nova, Vale da Teja and the terraced Castelos vineyard.
