Château Bel-Air Cuvée Jean & Gabriel 2016 is a red Bordeaux from Lussac-Saint-Émilion, offered here in a 1.5-litre magnum. Château Bel-Air Cuvée Jean & Gabriel 2019 is a red Bordeaux from AOC Lussac-Saint-Émilion, made from an equal blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. It comes from a dedicated 5-hectare selection of old vines, with an average age of around 40 years, growing on blue clay soils.
Château Bel-Air is a family estate run by the Roi family and has worked with consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt since 2014. The approach behind Jean & Gabriel is careful rather than showy: natural fermentation in small temperature-controlled concrete vats, gentle extraction and 18 months of ageing in French oak barriques. That élevage gives the wine its polished frame, while the dark fruit and Cabernet Franc freshness remain central.

The 2022 vintage is made from equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Franc, sourced from old vines growing on blue clay. That foundation gives the wine its sense of depth: concentrated dark fruit, firm structure and freshness running through the ripe core. Gentle, slow extraction is followed by 16 months of ageing in a combination of new and previously used barrels.
