Baron de Brane 2017 is the second wine of Château Brane-Cantenac in Margaux. It comes from the same estate context as the grand vin, but it is shaped to be more approachable earlier, with emphasis on elegant fruit rather than the firmer, longer-ageing structure of the top wine.
The 2017 blend is led by merlot and cabernet sauvignon, with small additions of cabernet franc and carmenère. It spent 12 months in French oak barriques, including a proportion of new oak, adding polish and depth while keeping the wine's fruit-driven Margaux character in view.
The growing season at Brane-Cantenac was eventful, with spring frost affecting the region, although key plots on the Brane plateau and near Carabin were spared. A cooler summer helped retain (…)Baron De Brane 2017 Magnum (1,5l)

Baron De Brane 2017 Magnum (1,5l)
On request only
Baron de Brane 2017 is the second wine of Château Brane-Cantenac in Margaux, made by the same estate as the Deuxième Grand Cru Classé. Presented here in a 1.5-litre magnum, it has the presence of a wine meant for the table, while the larger format may develop more slowly than a standard bottle under good cellar conditions.
The 2017 blend combines Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and a small proportion of Carménère. It was vinified in wooden vats and stainless-steel tanks, then aged for 12 months in French oak barriques, 30% of them new. That places the wine firmly in the Brane-Cantenac world, with the approachability and estate character expected from its second wine.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of (…)Baron De Brane 2022

Baron de Brane 2022 is the second wine of Château Brane-Cantenac, from Margaux in Bordeaux. Its appeal lies in that connection: it comes from the same estate background as the grand vin, yet is made to be more approachable at an earlier stage.
The 2022 vintage was shaped by an exceptionally dry, warm and sunny growing season, followed by an early harvest. Merlot takes the lead in the blend, supported by cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc and a small proportion of petit verdot. That explains much of the wine's feel: the merlot brings roundness and suppleness, while the cabernets add structure, freshness and aromatic definition.
The wine is drawn from specific estate parcels, including terraces with different contributions: one associated with lighter, (…)Baron De Brane 2022 Magnum (1,5l)

Baron de Brane 2022 is the second wine of Château Brane-Cantenac in Margaux, presented here in a 1.5 litre magnum. It shows the estate from a more supple and approachable angle than the grand vin, while still carrying the structure and poise associated with a serious Margaux red.
For this vintage the blend is led by merlot, at 65%, with 30% cabernet sauvignon, 4% cabernet franc and 1% petit verdot. The selection is linked mainly to plots that bring more elegant, lighter fruit, supported by material that adds structure. Twelve months of oak ageing gives the wine shape, while the emphasis remains on ripe fruit, juiciness and velvety tannins.
The 2022 growing season was warm, dry and sunny, with early harvesting spread over more than a month. Careful (…)Chateau Brane Cantenac 2020

Chateau Brane Cantenac 2020

Chateau Brane Cantenac 2020 is the Grand Vin of Château Brane-Cantenac, from Margaux in the Médoc. As a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification, it carries an important Bordeaux pedigree, yet the real interest here lies in the way the 2020 vintage brings together concentration, freshness and firm architectural structure.
Cabernet sauvignon forms the core of the blend, supported by merlot and small proportions of cabernet franc, carmenère and petit verdot. The wine comes from selected plots, including older vines on the Brane plateau, with deep Quaternary gravel and a more clay-influenced subsoil. That background helps explain the emphasis on aromatic precision, tannin definition and the dark-fruited depth described in the (…)Chateau Brane Cantenac 2021

Château Brane-Cantenac 2021 is the grand vin of this Margaux estate, a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification. It is a dry red Bordeaux led by cabernet sauvignon, with merlot and small proportions of cabernet franc, carmenère and petit verdot completing the blend.
The 2021 vintage in Margaux was shaped by contrast: frost, spring rain, a rather overcast summer and then a late period of dry weather. At Château Brane-Cantenac, work was adapted parcel by parcel, while the cellar approach focused on gentle extraction. That explains much of the wine's style: freshness, fine tannins and aromatic precision rather than sheer weight.
Vinification took place in wooden vats, followed by 18 months in new French oak (…)Chateau Brane Cantenac 2021 Demi (37,5cl)

Chateau Brane Cantenac 2021 Demi is the grand vin of Château Brane-Cantenac in a 37.5 cl half bottle. It is not a separate cuvée, but the same red Margaux from Bordeaux's left bank, produced by an estate classified as a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé in 1855.
The 2021 vintage has a more specific story than a simple label might suggest. The château describes it as a year of strong contrasts, with frost, spring rain, a gloomy summer and then a late dry spell. The fruit for this wine comes from the best plots on the Brane plateau, where sandy topsoil, gravel and a deeper clay component help shape the wine's structured yet precise style.
Cabernet sauvignon is the foundation of the blend, supported by merlot and small amounts of (…)Chateau Brane Cantenac 2021 Magnum (1,5l) Incl. Box

Château Brane-Cantenac 2021 in magnum is a refined expression of Margaux from one of Bordeaux's 1855 Deuxième Grand Cru Classé estates. The 1.5-litre bottle contains the same grand vin as the standard format, but the magnum presentation gives this vintage an added sense of occasion and patience.
Cabernet Sauvignon leads the blend, supported by Merlot and small proportions of Cabernet Franc, Carménère and Petit Verdot. The fruit came from selected estate parcels, with particular reference to the best parts of the Brane plateau and its clay and gravel soils. The 2021 vintage was marked by contrasts: frost, rain, a muted summer and then a late dry spell. In that context, the wine's appeal lies less in sheer ripeness and more in freshness, (…)Chateau Brane Cantenac 2022

Château Brane-Cantenac 2022 is the grand vin of Château Brane-Cantenac in Margaux, Bordeaux. It is a dry red wine and a Deuxième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 Médoc classification, yet the real interest here lies in how the 2022 vintage expresses depth, ripeness and Margaux precision in the same glass.
Cabernet sauvignon forms the core of the blend, supported by merlot and small proportions of cabernet franc, carmenère and petit verdot. For the grand vin, the estate refers in particular to old-vine parcels on the Brane plateau, planted on gravel soils with clay influence. The harvest ran from 7 September to 10 October, in a year marked by heat, drought and abundant sunshine. According to the château, the result was intense (…)Chateau Brane Cantenac 2022 Demi (37,5cl)

Chateau Brane Cantenac 2022 Demi (37,5cl)

Château Brane-Cantenac 2022 in half bottle is the estate's Grand Vin from Margaux, presented in a 37.5 cl format. It is the same 2022 wine, simply in a smaller bottle, making it a thoughtful choice when a full bottle of serious Bordeaux is more than the occasion requires.
This Deuxième Grand Cru Classé from the 1855 classification is led in 2022 by Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot and small proportions of Cabernet Franc, Carménère and Petit Verdot. The estate links the character of this vintage closely to old Cabernet Sauvignon vines on the Brane plateau, grown on clay-rich gravel soils that play an important role in the wine's structure.
The 2022 growing season was dry, warm and sunny, producing small berries and an (…)Margaux De Brane 2021

Margaux de Brane 2021 is a red Bordeaux from the Margaux appellation, produced by Château Brane-Cantenac. Within the estate's range, it is positioned as a more immediately approachable wine, carrying the Brane-Cantenac style in a form that is intended to be enjoyed earlier.
The 2021 vintage in Bordeaux was shaped by contrast: frost, spring rain, a rather grey summer and then a late period of dry weather. At Brane-Cantenac, vineyard work was adapted plot by plot to protect grape health and reach full ripeness. The blend of 65% cabernet sauvignon and 35% merlot reflects the vintage well, with an emphasis on red fruit, freshness and finely defined tannins.
Fermentation took place in stainless steel vats, followed by 12 months of ageing in the château (…)
