Hanou Vermouth Red by Forest is a Belgian red vermouth with a clear aperitif identity. It is built on AOC Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux Rouge red wine, giving it a wine-led foundation rather than a neutral backdrop.
Its personality comes from an expressive botanical selection: absinthe, gentian, hyssop, savory, clary sage, wild chamomile, St John's wort and liquorice bring an aromatic herbal core, while chocolate, vanilla, pear and cinnamon add warmth and roundness.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of vermouth we would introduce to someone looking beyond the familiar red vermouth style. With only the last bottles remaining, it also has the appeal of a release that is becoming harder to find.
