Domaine Maurice et Anne-Marie Chapuis Corton Perrières Grand Cru 2022 is a red Burgundy from the Côte de Beaune, grown on the Corton hill. Les Perrières lies on the eastern side of the slope, mid-hill and close to Les Languettes; its name refers to a former quarry. That gives the wine a very clear identity: a Grand Cru Pinot Noir from a defined Corton climat rather than a broad regional expression.Domaine Chapuis is a family estate in Aloxe-Corton with around 11 hectares of vineyards in the Côte de Beaune. Claire and Pierre Chapuis represent the sixth generation and have been leading the domaine alongside Maurice and Anne-Marie since 2018. For its red wines, the domaine indicates hand harvesting, around twenty days of cuvaison in concrete vats with pigeage and remontage, followed by ageing in French oak with only a modest proportion of new barrels. The approach keeps the emphasis on fruit, structure and site rather than overt oak.
The 2022 vintage brought a warm, dry growing season and a very hot summer, with harvesting beginning on 29 August. The domaine describes the wines as fleshy and dense, with fine tannins, balanced alcohol and good acidity despite the heat of the year.
