Kressmann Monopole Red 2020 is a Bordeaux Rouge from Maison Kressmann, a Bordeaux house founded in 1871. Monopole has its own historical weight within the region, being associated with the introduction of Kressmann Monopole in 1897. It reflects the role of Kressmann as a blending house, bringing together wines and grapes from different Bordeaux terroirs.The blend is based on Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Kressmann describes several terroir influences behind the wine: clay-limestone soils for tannin and structure, white sandy soils for fruit expression, and silty-clay soils for roundness and softness. Maturation is adjusted to the character of the vintage, with the aim of keeping the fruit present while building aromatic depth and keeping the oak influence integrated.
