Château Pape Clément Rouge 2020 Demi is the red grand vin of Château Pape Clément from Pessac-Léognan in Bordeaux. The 37.5 cl half-bottle keeps the identity of the wine intact, while offering a more compact way to open a serious Bordeaux from a notable vintage.The estate is counted among the oldest in Bordeaux and is historically linked to Bertrand de Goth, later Pope Clement V. That history gives the name real weight, yet the wine is defined above all by its place: Pessac-Léognan, Grand Cru Classé de Graves, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot forming the core of the blend.
The 2020 vintage followed a warm, dry growing season after a mild and wet spring. Grapes were harvested by hand parcel by parcel, sorted carefully and moved by gravity into wooden vats. Cold pre-fermentation maceration, manual pigeage and 18 months of ageing in French oak barriques and foudres all point towards a wine built on concentration, structure and patience.

About CH PAPE CLEMENT
Château Pape Clément is a historic French wine producer located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation in the Bordeaux region. The winery is named after Bertrand de Goth, who later became Pope Clément V, and it can be verified that he owned the vineyard in the early 14th century. Château Pape Clément is one of the oldest continuously operating wine estates in Bordeaux, with a history spanning more than seven centuries and a strong connection to the development of high-quality wines in the Graves. Today, the estate covers about 60 hectares, planted with typical Bordeaux grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and to a lesser extent Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot for the red wines, as well as Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc for the white wines. In the course of the 20th century, Château Pape Clément underwent extensive renovation; since 1980 it has been managed by Bernard Magrez, a well-known name in the French wine world. The wines are known for their rich structure and complexity, with a pronounced aging potential. Thanks to a combination of historical significance and a consistent focus on quality, Château Pape Clément is highly valued by wine enthusiasts worldwide.
