La Forra is one of the more distinctive Chianti Classico Riserva wines from Tenuta di Nozzole in Greve in Chianti. It comes from the La Forra area, a vineyard zone described as descending from a ridge towards a gorge, surrounded by woods and lakes. First produced in 1980, it is made entirely from Sangiovese.For the 2018 vintage, the wine was vinified in stainless steel before maturing for 18 months in French oak barriques of 225 and 500 litres, followed by a short period in large oak casks and further bottle ageing. That combination places the wine firmly in the Riserva style: structured, mature in tone, and shaped by Sangiovese's natural tension.
