Chateau Pape Clement Red 2019 Demi is the half-bottle format of the red grand vin from Chateau Pape Clement in Pessac-Léognan, Graves. The 37.5 cl bottle does not make it a different wine; it simply offers the same serious Bordeaux in a more practical size for occasions when a full bottle is not needed.At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Bordeaux we place in the conversation about depth, structure and careful cellar work. The 2019 blend is led by merlot and cabernet sauvignon, with small additions of petit verdot and cabernet franc. The grapes were hand-harvested in small crates, carefully sorted, vinified with a detailed approach including wooden vats and cold maceration, then matured for 18 months in French oak.
The 2019 vintage brings ripe dark fruit, concentration and firm tannic structure, while cool nights during ripening helped preserve freshness. The producer indicates an ageing potential of 15 to 30 years. If opened young, it benefits from being decanted well in advance and served around 16 °C, especially alongside red meat, truffle-based dishes, cheese or game such as wild boar and venison.
With only the last bottles remaining, this demi format is a thoughtful way to experience a substantial Pessac-Léognan without committing to a full 75 cl bottle.

Château Pape Clément is a historic French wine producer located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation in the Bordeaux region. The winery is named after Bertrand de Goth, who later became Pope Clément V, and it can be verified that he owned the vineyard in the early 14th century. Château Pape Clément is one of the oldest continuously operating wine estates in Bordeaux, with a history spanning more than seven centuries and a strong connection to the development of high-quality wines in the Graves. Today, the estate covers about 60 hectares, planted with typical Bordeaux grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and to a lesser extent Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot for the red wines, as well as Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc for the white wines. In the course of the 20th century, Château Pape Clément underwent extensive renovation; since 1980 it has been managed by Bernard Magrez, a well-known name in the French wine world. The wines are known for their rich structure and complexity, with a pronounced aging potential. Thanks to a combination of historical significance and a consistent focus on quality, Château Pape Clément is highly valued by wine enthusiasts worldwide.
