    Joseph Drouhin Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2019 is a red Burgundy from one of the most recognised Grand Cru sites of the Côte de Nuits. Clos de Vougeot is a walled vineyard in Vougeot, between Vosne-Romanée and Chambolle-Musigny, with a varied mix of clay and limestone soils. Drouhin owns two plots there on a gentle east-facing slope, giving this wine a very specific place within the wider Clos de Vougeot story.

    The wine is made from pinot noir, with fruit coming partly from Drouhin family parcels and partly from grapes or must selected from long-standing partners under strict specifications. Harvesting is by hand, fermentation takes place with native yeasts in small open vats, and for the 2019 vintage around 40% whole clusters are mentioned. Maturation follows (…)
