Talisker 8y Special Release 2024
On request only
Talisker 8y Special Release 2024 is a Skye single malt released as part of the Diageo Special Releases 2024. It is built around the elemental side of Talisker: restrained malt, sweetness and smoke, with the focus shifting toward a firm, salty and spicy whisky with real force.
At 8 years old and bottled at cask strength, it carries 58.7% alcohol and was matured in charred casks. The result is not a soft or heavily sweet expression, but a more direct style where maritime salinity and spice take the lead, supported by a lighter touch of smoke.
For Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Talisker release that stands out because it sharpens the distillery's coastal character rather than smoothing it away. With only the last bottles remaining, it also has the (…)Talisker 18y

Talisker 18y
Temporarily sold out
Talisker 18y is a Scottish single malt from Skye where age and island character meet in a measured way. Eighteen years in oak casks gives the whisky time to develop, while its profile points clearly towards spice, saltiness and a controlled touch of peat.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, older island malts like this have a particular appeal because they show more than just origin; they also show maturity. Talisker 18y is not built around heavy smoke or dominant oak. Its interest lies in the way the salty and spicy sides take the lead, with fruit and wood playing a quieter supporting role.
Bottled at 45.8%, it has enough strength to carry its character without feeling driven purely by alcohol. This is a single malt for those who enjoy the maritime side of Scotch (…)Kilchoman Fino Sherry Matured

Kilchoman Fino Sherry Matured
On request only
Kilchoman Fino Sherry Matured shows a less familiar side of this Islay single malt. Kilchoman more commonly places emphasis on Oloroso sherry casks, especially in expressions such as Sanaig and Loch Gorm, but this 2023 limited edition is built around Fino Sherry Butts. It follows the distillery's first global Fino release from 2020 and continues that particular cask story.
For this bottling, Anthony hand-selected 20 Fino Sherry Butts filled with spirit distilled in 2018. The casks were sourced from Bodega Jose y Miguel Martin in Spain and chosen for their quality and individuality. After a minimum of five years of maturation, the Fino influence brings a dry saline edge, lifted by fresh green fruit and stretched out by delicate Islay peat smoke.

Kilchoman 13y

Kilchoman 13y is a limited edition Islay single malt that speaks clearly of the distillery's hands-on approach. Founded in 2005, Kilchoman is known for its commitment to traditional methods and is among the few Scottish distilleries still working with a traditional malting method.
The maturity here comes from at least 13 years in a combination of bourbon casks, octaves and calvados casks. That cask mix gives the whisky a layered feel, with fruit, sweetness, spice, peat smoke and coastal saltiness all playing a role. It remains unmistakably Islay, but there is more to follow than smoke alone.
For Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Kilchoman that shows a more developed side of the distillery. Bottled at 50%, it has the strength to carry its fruit, (…)Ardmore 12y Macb (Elixir Distillers - Macbeth Series)

Ardmore 12y Macb (Elixir Distillers - Macbeth Series)
On request only
Ardmore 12y Macb belongs to Elixir Distillers' Macbeth Collection, a set of 42 Scottish whiskies named after characters from William Shakespeare's Macbeth. This Ardmore is presented as Seyton and appears in Act One, where the collection begins to unfold its theatrical cast of malts.
The whisky itself is a 12-year-old Highland single malt bottled at 52.5% cask strength. Its maturation in a mix of American and European oak casks that previously held Laphroaig whisky gives it a distinctly smoky, savoury and spicy direction. The peat is part of the personality here, supported by spice, a touch of fruit and a subtle wood influence.
Only 3200 bottles were released, and with the last bottles now remaining, this is the kind of limited Scotch whisky that naturally (…)Big Peat 15th Anniversary (Douglas Laing Regional Malts)

Big Peat 15th Anniversary (Douglas Laing Regional Malts)
On request only
Big Peat 15th Anniversary celebrates fifteen years of one of the most familiar names in Douglas Laing's Regional Malts series. That range is built around blended malts that present the character of Scotland's whisky regions in a clear and recognisable way, and Big Peat is firmly rooted in Islay: peat smoke, saltiness and a robust island style.
For this anniversary release, Douglas Laing created a version matured mainly in red wine casks and bottled at 50% ABV. It gives this Big Peat a different accent, bringing darker fruit and spice into conversation with the classic smoky backbone. The packaging follows the playful Regional Malts spirit as well, with fifteen anniversary surprises worked into the design.

Caol Ila 2010 11y Art6 is an Islay single malt with a very direct presentation: bottled by Signatory for the Artist Edition and released at cask strength. At 59.1%, it keeps close to the cask, giving the whisky a firm presence and allowing its peated, salty and spicy side to come through clearly.
The refill butt maturation is part of the appeal here. Rather than letting wood dominate, it leaves room for the distillery character to stay in focus. Peat and salinity carry the profile, spice adds structure, and fruit and oak remain more restrained in the background.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of independent bottling we like to present to customers who enjoy a clear Islay identity without unnecessary embellishment. With 1191 bottles produced and (…)Croftengea 2006 16y Tb (Thompson Brothers)

Croftengea 2006 16y Tb is a Highland single malt from Loch Lomond with a very clearly defined origin: distilled on 8 April 2006, matured for 16 years and bottled on 1 November 2022 from a single hogshead.
As a single cask release bottled at cask strength, it carries the imprint of one individual cask rather than a broader house composition. Only 479 bottles were drawn, and with the last bottles now in stock, it has a naturally limited place in the whisky selection at Drankenshop Broekmans.
The profile points towards a whisky where spice plays the leading role, supported by lighter wood influence and smaller touches of fruit, salinity and peat. This 19-year-old Islay single malt is part of the Macbeth Collection, a series of 42 Scottish whiskies named after characters from William Shakespeare's tragedy Macbeth. Within that collection, First Witch belongs to the four smoky whiskies, a fitting role for a malt from a distillery on Islay's Kildalton coast with a clearly smoky profile.
Maturation in Pedro Ximenez casks gives the whisky a darker, fruit-laden side alongside its maritime Islay nature. The smoke is not standing on its own here; it is joined by dried fruit, spice, salt and savoury notes. Bottled at cask strength, 51.7%, it keeps its natural weight and intensity.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we like to place in context: a 19-year-old Islay malt, part of a carefully (…)Talisker 25y 2021

Talisker Skye is a Scottish single malt that puts its origin right at the centre of the glass. The name points directly to Skye, and the whisky follows that direction with a clear island-led profile built around saltiness, peat and spice rather than an age statement.
American oak plays a supporting role here. It adds a light wood influence without taking over, allowing the more distinctive elements to stand forward: a salty edge, peated depth, firm spice and a modest fruit note. At 45.8% ABV, Talisker Skye has enough strength to carry that character clearly.

Talisker 10y is a Scottish single malt from Skye with a clear sense of direction. Peat smoke, salinity and spice shape the whisky's character, while oak cask maturation and its 10-year age statement give it a measured foundation rather than an overly woody profile.
At 45.8%, it carries enough strength to support that assertive style. The fruit and wood elements sit more in the background, adding detail without softening the whisky's smoky, salty and spicy core.
In the whisky selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we introduce when someone is looking for a Scotch single malt with a more pronounced personality. It is direct, recognisable and built around a profile that does not try to be neutral.

The character is built around a smoky and maritime core, with spice playing a clear supporting role. Fruit and wood are present more gently, so the whisky keeps its focus on that robust Islay side rather than moving into a sweeter or heavily oaked style. At 46% alcohol, it has enough weight to carry that profile with confidence.

The appeal here lies in the way the main elements are framed. Peat, saltiness and spice are the driving forces, with fruit and oak playing a more supporting role. It remains unmistakably connected to the Islay style, yet the age gives this release a more settled tone than a younger, more direct smoky whisky.

Talisker Dark Storm 1l is a Scottish single malt from Skye, bottled at 45.8%. What gives this release its particular direction is the charred cask maturation, placing the emphasis on a darker, spicier side of Talisker rather than presenting it as a purely smoky whisky.

Isle Of Mull 18y Macb comes from Elixir Distillers' Macbeth Collection, a series of 42 Scottish whiskies built around the characters of William Shakespeare's Macbeth. This release represents the First Murderer, one of the unnamed killers in the play. That anonymity is reflected in the bottle itself: the whisky was distilled on the island of Mull, while the distillery name remains undisclosed.
The island connection matters here. In the Macbeth Collection, the murderers are malts from the outer reaches of Scotland, and this 18-year-old single malt carries that setting with a firm sense of place. It matured in American oak and was bottled at cask strength, 50.5% ABV. Smokehead Sherry Cask Blast is an Islay single malt with a very direct sense of style. The name says a great deal already: Smokehead brings its smoky island character together with a sherry cask finish, bottled at a confident 48% ABV.

Bottled by Ian Macleod under the Smokehead label, it presents a modern, assertive take on Islay single malt. It is not a quiet whisky: the emphasis is on smoke, maritime tension and the extra depth brought by the sherry finish.
