Smoking Islay 11y Sherry Ba (Blackadder Various) Incl. Box

Smoking Islay 11 Year Old Amontillado Cask Finish is a firmly peated Islay whisky from independent bottler Blackadder. Smoke is clearly at the heart of the whisky, but the Amontillado finish gives it a drier, more defined edge than a more classic sherry-style influence.
That finish is what makes this bottling stand out. The supplied product information points towards oxidative depth, spice, nutty notes and fine wood, adding tension around the peat rather than softening it. It remains a powerful Islay whisky, yet the finish brings extra maturity and a more structured feel.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we would place in the hands of someone looking for peat with a distinct twist. As a single cask release of 750 bottles, now down to the (…)Kilchoman 100% Islay 15th Edition

Kilchoman 100% Islay 15th Edition
On request only
Kilchoman 100% Islay 15th Edition is a single malt with a very clear sense of place. Everything happens on Islay, from growing the barley to bottling the whisky, so the name is more than a style reference. It is a release built around origin, continuity and the island itself.
This 15th edition was distilled from the 2014 and 2015 harvests and matured for at least 9 years in 54 ex-bourbon casks. That maturation brings caramel, vanilla and butterscotch into the whisky, while Kilchoman's natural citrus sweetness and peat smoke remain firmly present. The supplied profile points to fruit and peat as the main lines, supported by lighter wood, spice and floral touches.

Gouden Carolus Blaasveld Broek 50cl

Gouden Carolus Blaasveld Broek is a Belgian single malt whisky with a clearly peated side. At Drankenshop Broekmans, it stands out as a Belgian whisky for drinkers who are drawn to smoke and structure rather than a broadly sweet or heavily fruity style.
Distilled in 2017 and matured in oak cask, it carries no age statement. That shifts the focus to its character in the glass: peat is the main feature, while wood, spice, fruit and floral notes play a lighter supporting role.
Bottled at 46% in a 50 cl format, this Gouden Carolus has a compact but expressive identity. It is a Belgian single malt where smoke and oak shape the experience, with the other elements kept more restrained.
The flavour profile is led by peat, which is more pronounced than (…)Mars The Y.A #2 Incl. Box

Mars The Y.A #2 is a Japanese blended malt from Mars Maltage, bottled at 49%. With no age statement given, the focus shifts away from maturation numbers and towards the composition itself: how the malt character, fruit and peat come together in the glass.
Its profile is built around clearly present fruitiness and peat smoke, supported by lighter floral, woody, spicy and slightly salty accents. That gives the whisky a more layered direction than a simple fruit-led style, while still keeping the main impression easy to understand: fruit and smoke are the two defining elements here.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we would point out to customers looking for Japanese whisky with a little more edge. With only the last bottles remaining, Mars (…)Ballechin 18y Cask Strength 50,9 Tube Incl.

Ballechin 18y Cask Strength 50,9 Tube Incl.

Ballechin is the name used for the heavily peated whisky from Edradour distillery, and this 18 year old single malt shows that style with real maturity behind it. It comes from the Highlands, yet the character is unmistakably shaped by robust peat smoke, sweet fruit and a darker touch of leathery oak.
Bottled at cask strength at 50.9%, it keeps a firm, natural presence in the glass. The bourbon barrel maturation supports the fruit and barley rather than dominating the whisky, leaving room for roasted nuts, wood spice and generous smoke. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we would point out to peat drinkers who want weight, age and development rather than just raw impact.
With the last bottles now remaining, this Ballechin 18 Year Old has an (…)Lagg Inaugural Release 3

Lagg Inaugural Release 3

Lagg Inaugural Release 3 belongs to the early story of Lagg on the Isle of Arran. This Scottish single malt was distilled in 2019 and bottled at 50%, with a Wine Finish giving this release its own place within the distillery's first wave of bottlings.
The release was limited to 10,000 bottles, and with the last bottles now in focus it has a particular relevance at Drankenshop Broekmans. We see it as a snapshot from the formative years of Lagg: young, clearly defined and already showing a firm sense of direction.
Its flavour profile points to a whisky where fruit and peat carry the main impression, supported by lighter floral, woody, spicy and slightly salty accents. The 50% strength adds presence, making this a single malt with a more pronounced stance rather (…)Ardmore 2008 10y (Asta Morris)

Ardmore 2008 10y is a Highland single malt with a very focused identity: one cask, one vintage, and a small outturn. Distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2019, it spent 10 years maturing in a bourbon barrel.
As a single cask release, it represents a specific selection rather than a broader house blend. Only 272 bottles were filled, and with the last bottles now available, that limited nature becomes part of the appeal.
At 54%, this is bottled at cask strength, keeping the whisky close to its original form from the barrel. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this Ardmore as a whisky for those who appreciate a more direct Highland single malt, with fruit and peat forming the main line of character, while wood and spice stay in a supporting role.

Cotswolds Peated Single Malt shows the bolder, smoky side of British single malt whisky. Bottled at cask strength at 59.6%, it keeps a firm and direct presence, with the kind of intensity that gives the whisky real weight in the glass.
Peat is clearly part of the identity here, though it is not the only element at play. Light touches of fruit, spice, floral character and wood sit around the smoky core, giving the whisky a broader shape than a one-dimensional peated style.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we would place in front of someone looking for a powerful peated single malt without an age statement taking the spotlight. Mars The Y.A #5 is a Japanese blended malt with a very specific maturation story. It was matured entirely on Yakushima, an island set within a maritime ecosystem listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. That island setting is not just background information here; it is central to the whisky's identity.
Yakushima's subtropical microclimate brings mild winters, warm summers and very high humidity throughout the year. With annual evaporation estimated at 7 to 14%, the interaction between whisky and wood is accelerated in a striking way. The ocean nearby and the constant sea breeze add a subtle maritime, saline influence to the whisky's profile.

The main tension here sits between peat and fruit. The peated side is clearly present, yet the whisky also carries a noticeable fruity dimension, with oak and spice playing a more supporting role. That gives the whisky more shape than strength alone would suggest.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we place in the hands of someone who wants to experience Amrut with its volume turned up: peated, cask strength, Indian single malt, without an age statement taking attention away from the style itself.

Ardbeg Smokiverse - Ardbeg Day 2025

Ardbeg Smokiverse is the Ardbeg Day 2025 Limited Edition, an Islay single malt that stays firmly within Ardbeg's smoky territory while giving extra space to fruit and sweetness. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as one of those releases where the interest lies not just in the label, but in the way the distillery has approached the whisky itself.
For Smokiverse, Ardbeg experimented with high gravity mashing: more grain and less water in the mash tun. That creates a denser wort and enhances flavour-active acetate esters. The result is still unmistakably smoky, but with a more pronounced fruit-driven and sweet aromatic side.
Bottled at 48.3% and clear gold in the glass, this limited edition brings together Islay peat smoke, sweetness and a vivid fruity edge. (…)Kilchoman Family Collection Ex Bourbon 18y Incl. Box

Kilchoman Family Collection Ex Bourbon 18y presents a more mature side of Kilchoman. For this Islay single malt, eighteen years of ageing is an important milestone: the heavily peated malt still gives the whisky its unmistakable smoky foundation, but time in bourbon barrels has softened the edges and brought greater aromatic depth.
The interest here lies in the way the peat has settled into the whisky. It remains clear, yet more refined, sitting alongside ripe fruit, vanilla and a gentle toasted wood influence. It feels like a grown-up reading of the Kilchoman style rather than a forceful display of peat alone.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we would place in front of someone who already appreciates Kilchoman and wants to see what longer (…)Elements Of Islay Bourbon Incl. Box

Kavalan The Peatist Bourbon brings a peated side of Taiwanese single malt into focus, with strength, clarity and a notably smooth presentation. This Bourbon release is drawn from a single cask and bottled at cask strength, at 54%. Matured in American ex-bourbon casks, it shows the softer and more harmonious side of the Peatist style. The peat is clearly present, yet it is wrapped in vanilla, coconut cream, gentle spice and tropical fruit notes such as mango and banana.

Kilchoman Sanaig Cask Strength 2026 takes the familiar Sanaig style and presents it with more weight and concentration. The recipe remains close to the original, with maturation led mainly by Sherry casks and supported by Bourbon casks. The key difference is the strength: instead of being reduced to 46%, this edition is bottled at its natural cask strength of 57.5%.
That higher bottling strength brings the more generous side of Kilchoman's Islay single malt into sharper focus. Peat smoke, Sherry-led richness, dried fruit, red fruit and warming spice all feel more pronounced, while the whisky remains unchill-filtered and bottled without added colouring.
