Port Askaig 28y
On request only
Port Askaig 28y is a mature Islay single malt where age has softened the edges without taking away the island character. After 28 years, the peat and coastal side are still there, yet they feel more composed, more elegant and more layered.
Maturation in bourbon casks gives space to fruit, citrus and gentle sweetness, while dry wood, smoke and a light salty note keep the whisky firmly grounded in its style. At 45.8%, it has enough presence to carry its age, but the real attraction is the refined complexity that time has brought.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we would present as a thoughtful, mature interpretation of Islay rather than simply an old peated whisky. With 3000 bottles released and the last bottles now in view, Port Askaig 28y (…)Talisker 25y 2015

Talisker 25y 2015
On request only
Talisker 25y 2015 presents an older, more mature side of this single malt from Skye. The 25 years of age and oak cask maturation form the backbone of the whisky, while the supplied flavour profile points towards clear wood influence, fruit, peat smoke and a measured salty accent.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we would place in front of someone interested in aged Talisker rather than simply looking for a standard everyday malt. The 2015 release was bottled in a run of 9,882 bottles and is marked as a collectors item. With the last bottles now indicated, it carries a natural sense of scarcity while still remaining, first and foremost, a whisky made to be appreciated for its mature single malt character.

This Laphroaig 2001 from Signatory is built around the individuality of one cask. Distilled on 14 February 2001 and bottled on 21 August 2019, it spent 18 years maturing in a refill butt before being released as a single cask whisky at its natural cask strength of 59.3%.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, bottlings like this are valued for the way they show a distillery through a very specific lens. Only 606 bottles were drawn from this cask, so the whisky is not presented as a broad house style but as one defined chapter: Laphroaig, Islay, one refill butt, bottled by Signatory without being brought down to a lower drinking strength.
The flavour profile points to a firm Islay presence, with peat, wood and fruit all clearly in view. A lighter salty and spicy edge adds (…)Port Ellen 1978 35y 14th

Port Ellen 1978 35y 14th

Port Ellen 1978 35y 14th is a Scottish Islay single malt with a distinctly rare profile. Distilled in 1978 and matured for 35 years, it was bottled at cask strength at 56.5%. This is not positioned as an everyday Islay whisky, but as a long-aged release where origin, maturity and natural strength are all part of the story.
The oak cask maturation gives the whisky a firm backbone, while the supplied flavour profile points towards peat, wood and fruit as the main elements, supported by lighter spice and a salty edge. That combination places the emphasis on mature Islay character rather than peat alone.
Within the selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, this bottling stands out because of its limited nature. With 2964 bottles produced, a collector's item designation (…)Port Ellen 1978 37y 16th

Port Ellen 1978 37y 16th

Port Ellen 1978 37y 16th is a Scottish single malt from Islay with a distinctly rare profile. Distilled in 1978 and matured for 37 years in oak cask, it was bottled at cask strength at 55.2%.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, a bottle like this stands apart without needing much explanation. The age, the Islay origin and the limited release of 2,940 bottles already say a great deal. With only the last bottles remaining, this is a whisky aimed at drinkers who approach Port Ellen with real attention.
The flavour direction is clearly rooted in Islay, with peat smoke playing an important role. At the same time, the profile also shows notable wood influence and fruit, with lighter salty and spicy accents adding definition rather than overwhelming the whisky.

Port Askaig 30y
On request only
Port Askaig 30y shows Islay single malt in a mature, composed form. This third edition is especially noteworthy because it is the first Port Askaig 30 year old to be bottled at cask strength, giving the whisky a more direct expression of its long ageing while keeping the soft, smoky profile described for this release.
The bourbon cask influence supports the fruit, citrus and dry wood notes without pushing the island character into the background. Smoke, gentle salinity and a mineral edge remain part of the experience, but the whisky speaks with the calm depth of a long-aged dram rather than with raw intensity.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we see as particularly meaningful for drinkers looking for an older and increasingly scarce Islay (…)*Vintage* Ardbeg 1967 32y Omc (Douglas Laing - Old Malt Cask) Incl. Box

Very last one in stock!
Ardbeg 1967 32 Year Old from Douglas Laing's Old Malt Cask range is a whisky with a very clear identity. Distilled in 1967 and bottled in 2000, it comes from a single oak cask and was released in an outturn of just 309 bottles. That makes it less a regular bottling and more a precisely captured piece of Islay single malt history.
At 32 years old, this Ardbeg has had long maturation time to develop beyond youthful intensity. Bottled at cask strength at 49%, it keeps the individual voice of the cask intact rather than being shaped into a broader house-style presentation.
For Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle that stands apart in a specialist whisky selection: old, limited, clearly traceable and tied to a respected independent bottler. The (…)Caperdonich 18y Peated Incl. Box

Caperdonich 18y Peated is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky bottled at 48% after 18 years of maturation. The name immediately points to peat, yet the profile suggests a whisky where smoke is present with restraint rather than taking over completely. Fruit and oak have a clearer role, with peat adding definition around the edges.
American Oak maturation gives the whisky a noticeable wood-driven foundation, while the fruity side keeps the profile from feeling one-dimensional. Gentle spice and a light salty accent add further shape, making this a peated malt with more emphasis on structure and maturity than on sheer smoky intensity.

Kilchoman Machir Bay Mini offers the distillery's flagship release in a smaller format. The name comes from the beautiful beach close to the distillery, a fitting reference for an Islay single malt where peat smoke, fruit and coastal character sit at the heart of the style.
Matured in sherry and bourbon casks, Machir Bay is bottled at 46% and carries no age statement. The supplied tasting description places it firmly in the smoky and elegant camp, with cooked fruit, peat and vanilla shaping the experience.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this miniature as a concise introduction to Kilchoman: expressive enough to show its Islay identity, yet rounded by fruit and softness. Its gold medal at the IWSC 2015 adds a useful point of recognition for a whisky that has (…)Kilchoman Sanaig Incl. Box

Laphroaig 25y B2016 is a mature Islay single malt with a very clear sense of place and age. It brings together 25 years of maturation, cask strength bottling and a combination of sherry and bourbon casks, giving this release a more serious, contemplative side within the Laphroaig range.
The supplied flavour profile points to peat and fruit as the main pillars, supported by lighter touches of wood, spice and salinity. That balance makes the bottle especially interesting at Drankenshop Broekmans for customers who look beyond the standard expression and want a Laphroaig with age, strength and a collector's appeal.

Laphroaig Four Oak 1l brings together two themes that define this Islay single malt in the supplied profile: a clear peated presence and a noticeable oak-driven side. The name naturally puts wood at the centre of the conversation, and the whisky's character follows that direction with smoke and oak taking the lead, supported by lighter touches of spice, fruit and salt.
There is no age statement here, so the focus sits on style rather than maturation age. Bottled at 40% and presented in a one-litre format, it is a practical way to explore a wood-accented side of Laphroaig while staying firmly within Islay territory.
