Kyro 2016 (Berry Bros Nordic Casks)
On request only
Kyro 2016 is Finnish rye whisky shown in a very focused way: one bourbon barrel, bottled at cask strength by Berry Bros as part of the Nordic Casks range. Rather than a broad house style, this is a small snapshot of one individual cask.
Distilled in 2016 and bottled in 2021, the release was limited to 256 bottles. At Drankenshop Broekmans, it stands out as a rye whisky for drinkers who enjoy exploring less familiar origins within the category.
The emphasis is clearly on spice, supported by a noticeable fruity side and a lighter touch of wood from the bourbon barrel. At 54.6%, it carries the presence of a cask strength bottling, with no supplied indication of peat smoke or salinity.
The flavour profile is led by pronounced spice. Fruit sits (…)Compass Box Spice Tree Extravangaza (Compass Box Limited Edition)

Compass Box Spice Tree Extravangaza (Compass Box Limited Edition)

Compass Box Spice Tree Extravangaza is a Scottish blended malt with a clear anniversary background. It was created for the 10th anniversary of the first Spice Tree, with John Glaser revisiting that original idea in a deeper and more mature form.
For this version, the single malts are older than those used in the original release, and a greater proportion of sherry casks was used to push the spicy character further. The result is a whisky built around aromatic warmth, ripe fruit and a generous spice-driven style, very much in line with the Spice Tree name.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Compass Box release we like to place in context: limited to 12,240 bottles, now down to the last bottles, and carrying a direct link to one of the brand's (…)Speyside 2009 15y (The Single Malts Of Scotland) Incl. Box

Speyside 2009 15y (The Single Malts Of Scotland) Incl. Box

Speyside 2009 15y is built around a very focused idea: one undisclosed Speyside distillery, one Oloroso sherry cask and fifteen years of maturation. Distilled on 2 November 2009 and bottled on 28 April 2025, it keeps the name of the distillery quiet while letting the cask speak clearly.
Only 657 bottles came from this single cask, bottled at a natural cask strength of 57.5%. The Oloroso influence gives the whisky its sherried core, with dried fruit, warm spice and a touch of cocoa shaping the style. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Speyside single malt we like to present when someone is looking for a limited cask-driven whisky with real presence.
As with all Single Malts of Scotland releases, it is non-chill filtered and naturally coloured. What (…)Shizuoka 2018 6y #864 (Blackadder - Raw Cask) Tube Incl.

Shizuoka 2018 6y #864 is a Japanese single malt with a very focused small-batch identity. Distilled on 25 December 2018 and bottled in March 2025 by Blackadder for the Raw Cask series, it comes from one bourbon barrel only: cask #864, with just 189 bottles drawn.
At 63.7% ABV, this is clearly a cask strength release with a direct presence. Yet the supplied tasting note points to more than sheer power. Alongside the high strength there is a surprisingly elegant side, with exotic fruit, floral honey and a mineral touch shaping the whisky's personality.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this Shizuoka stands out as the kind of bottle we like to present to customers who are curious about limited Japanese single cask whisky. With only a small outturn and the last bottles (…)Aberlour Triple Cask

Aberlour Triple Cask is a Speyside single malt from Scotland with the cask influence placed firmly at the centre of the style. The name points towards layered maturation, while the supplied cask information highlights sherry and bourbon as key influences in the whisky's make-up.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Aberlour we would introduce as approachable in structure, yet still clearly shaped by flavour. The profile leans towards fruit and spice, with wood playing a lighter supporting role rather than dominating the whisky. Bottled at 40%, it sits in a familiar and easy-going single malt style.
For drinkers looking for Speyside character without peat smoke, Aberlour Triple Cask offers a fruit-and-spice driven take on the house style.

Balvenie 21y Portwood is a Speyside single malt where age and cask finishing define the conversation. Twenty-one years of maturation gives it a mature foundation, while the Port Finish brings the whisky into a style built around spice, wood influence and a clear fruity thread rather than peat smoke or coastal salinity.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a whisky for drinkers who enjoy Speyside single malt with a more developed, cask-led character. The port finish is not just a finishing touch in the technical sense; it is central to how this Balvenie presents itself.
Bottled at 40%, it remains measured and approachable, while the age statement and finishing style give it the presence expected from a more considered dram. It is the kind of bottle that (…)Dalmore Quintessence Incl. Box

Dalmore Quintessence is a Highland single malt with a story that is closely tied to Richard Patterson's fiftieth anniversary in the whisky world. Rather than being defined by age, it is shaped by a very deliberate maturation idea and by the selection of casks behind it.
The whisky first matured in American oak ex-bourbon casks, before spending a further five years in five different Californian red wine casks. Each cask had held wine made from a different grape variety: Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. That gives Quintessence a fruit-led and gently spiced direction, with the oak playing a supporting role rather than dominating the whisky.

Glen Grant Chronicles 1l is a Speyside single malt shaped by a combination of sherry and bourbon casks. The profile points towards fruit and spice, with oak playing a gentler supporting role rather than taking over the whisky.
At 46% alcohol, it has a little extra presence in the glass, while the supplied profile does not place it in a peated or salty style. That makes the character quite clearly focused on the fruit-spice side of Glen Grant, without leaning on smoke for impact.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this release stands out not only because of its generous one-litre bottle, but also because it is down to the last bottles. Glenmorangie Accord 12y is a Highland single malt built around a clear cask conversation: bourbon and sherry. After 12 years of maturation, the whisky leans towards fruit and spice, with the wood influence kept in a supporting role rather than taking over the glass.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a Glenmorangie for drinkers who enjoy a polished Scottish single malt without a peated character. The 43% strength keeps the whisky approachable while still giving enough presence to the cask maturation.
The 1 litre bottle also makes it a generous choice for those who like to return to the same style over several evenings. Its appeal lies in the combination of Highland origin, 12 years of age and the interplay between bourbon and sherry casks.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Macallan we would introduce through its generous fruit character first. The spice is noticeable, but it sits within a sweeter, fruit-led style rather than taking over. There is no peat in the profile, so the emphasis remains on warmth, sweetness and finesse.

Sherry maturation shapes the style, with fruit and gentle spice taking the lead. The wood is present but restrained, and there is no peated profile competing for attention. At 46% ABV, it has enough weight to carry those flavours without feeling overdriven.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, releases like this tend to interest customers who enjoy discovering Scotch single malts beyond the familiar labels. Batch 2 is now down to the last bottles, so it has that extra sense of a limited opportunity without needing to shout about it.

Woodford Batch Proof 119.5 Proof shows Woodford at a more immediate stage than the regular 90.4 proof bottling. This very limited Proprietary Batch is presented before that final adjustment, so it reaches the bottle at 59.75% alcohol. It is a stronger, less softened view of the Woodford Reserve batch.
The real story here is the composition of the whiskey. The batch draws on barrels from many different production dates, matured across different warehouses and on different floors within those warehouses. The Master Distiller notes that this release includes more barrels from the upper floors of heat-cycled warehouses, where the more aggressive angel's share process routinely produces a higher proof.
