Compass Box Experimental Grain (Compass Box Limited Edition)
In stock
Compass Box Experimental Grain is a Scottish grain whisky with a name that sets the tone straight away. Experimental gives this limited edition a more exploratory feel: there is no age statement, so the focus sits on style, composition and the particular direction chosen for this release.
Bottled by Compass Box at 46%, it is linked to American Oak maturation, though the stated profile does not place oak at the centre. Instead, the character points towards floral, spiced and peated elements, with fruit playing a quieter supporting role.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we would place in front of someone who wants to look at grain whisky from a less predictable angle. As a limited edition with the last bottles now available, it also carries (…)Tormore 2010 10y (Campbeltown Whisky Company - Watt Whisky)

Tormore 2010 10y (Campbeltown Whisky Company - Watt Whisky)
On request only
Tormore 2010 10y shows Speyside single malt from a very specific angle: one hogshead, bottled at cask strength, with the whisky kept close to the cask it came from. At 57.1%, it has the directness and presence you would expect from a full-strength single cask release.
Distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2021 after 10 years of maturation, this release was limited to 287 bottles. At Drankenshop Broekmans, the fact that these are now the last bottles gives it the feel of a precise snapshot rather than a widely available expression.
What stands out is the emphasis on spice and peat, supported more gently by floral and fruity notes. Wood influence is not the main feature here, so the whisky comes across as a firmer, more distinctive take on Tormore rather than a (…)Benromach Peat Smoke Incl. Box

Benromach Peat Smoke Incl. Box

Benromach Peat Smoke shows a smoky side of Speyside single malt. The peat is not just a faint suggestion here; it is one of the defining elements, supported by a clear spicy note and lighter touches of fruit and floral character.
The bourbon barrel influence gives the whisky its setting without making oak the dominant theme. That keeps the focus where the name places it: on peat smoke and spice rather than heavy wood or coastal saltiness.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this sits well among Scottish single malts for drinkers looking for a Speyside whisky with a more pronounced smoky direction, bottled at 46% alcohol for a confident presentation.

Benriach 2009 12y Lmdw

Benriach 2009 12y LMDW is a Speyside single malt built around the individuality of one cask. Distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2021 at 12 years old, it presents a more specific snapshot of Benriach than a regular core-range release.
The port maturation and cask strength bottling at 59.8% give this whisky a firm presence. Its profile points towards clearly expressed spice and peat, with lighter fruity, floral and woody elements around them rather than dominating the experience.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, releases like this are valued because they show whisky in a more focused form: one cask, one limited outturn, one particular interpretation. With 762 bottles produced and the last bottles available, this Benriach has the appeal of a defined and increasingly (…)Bowmore 11y Incl. Box

Bowmore 11y Incl. Box

Bowmore 11y is an Islay single malt from Scotland with a clear island signature, though it is not built on peat alone. Its 11 years of maturation in bourbon and sherry casks give it a layered frame: peat and spice are the leading elements, while lighter fruity, floral and gently salty touches add detail around them.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this Bowmore sits well among Islay whiskies for drinkers who enjoy smoke and spice but do not necessarily want a heavily wood-driven dram. The flavour profile points away from dominant oak and more towards the interaction between peat, seasoning and subtle supporting notes.
Bottled at 40% alcohol, Bowmore 11y keeps its strength measured while still showing a recognisable Islay identity. It is a single malt with enough (…)Machrie Moor 10 Y Tube Incl.

Expected: 01/11/2026Machrie Moor 10 Y is an important expression in Arran's peated whisky story. Machrie Moor first appeared in 2010 as Arran's first peated whisky, and this release gives the range its first age-stated reference: at least 10 years old, with the familiar 20 ppm peat level.
It matured entirely in first fill bourbon barrels and was bottled at 46%, with natural colour and without chill filtration. That keeps a clear connection to Arran's fresh house style, while adding the spiced, smoky side that defines Machrie Moor.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as more than just another release in the range. It is bottled once a year in very limited quantities, and the combination of age statement, peat smoke and Arran character gives it a strong place among customers who (…)Caol Ila 2018 8y Douglas Laing Single Minded Incl. Douglas Laing's Single Minded range is built around the idea of letting the distillery speak clearly. The whiskies are bottled without chill filtration and without added colouring, keeping the natural character of the spirit at the centre. In this Caol Ila, that means Islay peat presented with finesse rather than force.
Distilled in 2018, matured for 8 years in a bourbon barrel and bottled at 46%, it shows a fresh and precise side of Caol Ila. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is exactly the kind of Islay release we like to point out when someone wants peat, but also clarity: citrus brightness, soft malt, refined smoke and a maritime lift.
As the first Caol Ila expression in the new Single Minded series, it carries a sense of discovery. This small batch keeps (…)Caisteal Chamuis Peated

Caisteal Chamuis Peated is a Scottish blended malt with a clear sense of direction: peat is central, supported by a pronounced spicy side. Bottled at 46% and released without an age statement, it is presented more through style and flavour character than through a specific maturation age.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this sits in the range as a smoky whisky with more going on than peat alone. The profile points to a clear combination of smoke and spice, with lighter fruity, floral and salty touches around it. Oak does not appear to be the main driver here, so the focus stays on peat, seasoning and fresher accents.

English Whisky 2009 12y Ww is a British single malt with a very clear sense of origin: distilled in 2009, bottled in 2022 and matured for twelve years in a single bourbon barrel. As a single cask release, it is less about a broad house recipe and more about one individual cask captured at bottling strength.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, bottles like this stand out because they give whisky drinkers something specific to explore. Only 228 bottles were drawn, and with the last bottles now indicated, this release has become a sharply limited snapshot of English single malt whisky. The 57.1% cask strength keeps the presentation direct and forceful.

Kornog 2006 Over 10y Artist #10 is a French single malt from Glann Ar Mor, bottled by La Maison du Whisky as part of the Artist Collection. Its appeal lies in its focused nature: one cask, one limited release, and a whisky presented without the smoothing effect of a larger batch.
Matured in a Bourbon Barrel and bottled at cask strength at 57%, it keeps a direct connection to its individual cask. The name points to more than ten years of maturation, with distillation in 2006 and bottling in 2020.

Akkeshi Seimei Peated is a Japanese single malt with a strong sense of season and place. Seimei means light and clear, and this release is the seventh whisky in Akkeshi's 24 seasons series. It captures the beginning of spring: flowers in bloom, blue skies, a cooling breeze and swallows returning to Japan after wintering on the warm islands of Southeast Asia.
That springtime image is paired with a peated Akkeshi profile. The distillery sits close to the Pacific Ocean and is surrounded by marshland, with access to local peat. In this bottling, the sweetness and fruitiness associated with Akkeshi meet a maritime, smoky side, giving the whisky a clear identity rather than just a regional label.

Chichibu The Peated 2022 shows a smoky side of Japanese single malt. The name makes the intention clear, yet the supplied flavour profile suggests peat and spice as the main drivers rather than an overwhelming wall of smoke, with lighter fruity, floral and salty touches around the edges.
At 53.5% and bottled at cask strength, it is presented with real presence. No age statement is given, so the focus sits firmly on the style of the whisky itself: a peated Chichibu release with intensity, clarity and very little emphasis on wood influence.
Within the selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, this bottle is a fine fit for drinkers exploring Japanese single malt from a more smoky and spicy angle, while still looking for detail rather than heaviness alone.

Islay 2007 18y comes with a deliberate sense of mystery: the distillery is undisclosed, yet the Islay identity is unmistakably part of the story. This 18-year-old single malt was bottled by Alistair Walker for the Infrequent Flyers series, a setting that suits a whisky built around individuality rather than broad house style.
More than five years of finishing in an Oloroso puncheon gives the whisky a darker, richer frame around its peated Islay core. The smoke remains central, but it is joined by dark fruit, spice and sherried depth. At 53.7% cask strength, it keeps a firm, direct presence in the glass.
