Ardbeg 2013 8y Single Cask

Ardbeg 2013 8y Single Cask
In stock
Ardbeg 2013 8y Single Cask is a very focused Islay single malt: one cask, one maturation story and a limited outturn of 670 bottles. Distilled on 20 February 2013 and bottled on 9 September 2021, it captures Ardbeg at 8 years old through the lens of a single individual cask.
The whisky was matured in a Sherry Butt and bottled at cask strength, 60.9%, giving this release a direct and uncompromised presentation. Rather than blending several casks into a broader house style, this bottling keeps the attention on the specific cask from which it came.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, bottles like this are valued for their clear sense of origin and limited nature. The combination of single cask, cask strength, 670 bottles and the fact that these are the last bottles makes (…)Smokehead Twisted Stout (Ian Macleod) Incl. Box

Smokehead Twisted Stout (Ian Macleod) Incl. Box

Smokehead Twisted Stout is an Islay single malt with a clear sense of direction: peat, salt and a beer-finished twist. It sits firmly in the Smokehead world, where the whisky is meant to feel bold rather than discreet, but this release adds another angle through its finish.
There is no age statement here, so the focus is less on maturation length and more on style. The Islay side comes through in the peated and salty profile, while lighter notes of wood, spice, fruit and floral character give it some extra movement around the edges.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we would point out to someone who enjoys the coastal, smoky side of Scotch whisky but wants to taste a Smokehead expression with a different finishing idea. At 43% ABV, it keeps (…)Port Askaig 100 Proof

Port Askaig 100 Proof

Port Askaig 100 Proof marks the return of a much-loved classic to the permanent Port Askaig range. Bottled at 57.1%, it presents a strong, bourbon-matured Islay single malt with peat smoke, a salty edge and a clear sense of power in the glass.
First-fill bourbon casks shape the whisky with fresh citrus and sweeter notes, while the Islay peat remains firmly present. Produced in small batches, it has a direct, robust feel rather than the impression of a whisky polished into anonymity.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this Port Askaig as a strong choice within our selection of characterful Islay malts. It is bottled without chill filtration and without added colouring, keeping the presentation close to the whisky's natural style.

Talisker Parley Wilder Seas

Talisker Parley Wilder Seas is a limited-edition single malt from Skye that places the sea at the centre of the story. That connection is present in the whisky's salty, smoky character, but also in the collaboration behind the release: Talisker works with Parley For The Oceans to help protect marine nature areas for future generations.
Maturation in French oak XO cognac casks gives this Talisker an added fruit-driven depth. Soft plum, sweet raisin, sea salt and spicy smoke are the key impressions here, carried with good intensity at 48.6% alcohol. It remains recognisably maritime, while the cognac cask influence brings a richer fruit tone to the conversation.
The bottle itself is part of the same idea, made from 100% recycled glass and produced using biofuel. (…)Caol Ila 13y Gmp (Gordon & Mcphail) Tube Incl.

Caol Ila 13 Year Old by Gordon & MacPhail shows a welcoming side of Islay single malt without losing the island signature. It comes from the Discovery range, created as an accessible introduction to Gordon & MacPhail's single malt portfolio. Caol Ila itself is located on the north-eastern side of Islay, near Port Askaig, and that origin comes through in the whisky's gentle peat smoke and salty edge.
What makes this bottling stand out is the sweet, fruit-led expression of that Islay style. The bourbon cask maturation supports notes of vanilla, apricot jam and tropical fruit, while malt, lemon zest and soft smoke keep the whisky lively and unmistakably coastal. At 13 years old and bottled at 43%, it feels composed, clear and easy to understand without becoming (…)Laphroaig 2005 20y (The Whisky Agency - Milroy's For Twa)

Laphroaig 2005 20y (The Whisky Agency - Milroy's For Twa)

Laphroaig 2005 20y shows a very direct Islay personality, but with the extra depth that comes from long maturation in a single hogshead. The core remains unmistakably maritime and medicinal: iodine, peat and sea salt are central, while a surprising touch of ripe banana gives this older Laphroaig an additional point of interest.
Distilled in 2005 and bottled after 20 years by The Whisky Agency under the Milroy's for TWA label, this is a single cask release bottled at cask strength, 52.2%. That makes it feel less like a regular expression and more like a precise snapshot of one individual cask at maturity.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this bottle stands out because it brings together age, Islay intensity and genuine scarcity. With only the last bottles remaining, (…)Peat Reak 20y Highland Malt Bourbon "30 Years Blackadder" Incl. Box

Big Peat Feis Isle 2025 is a special Douglas Laing release created in honour of the annual Feis Isle festival on Islay. In the Big Peat range, this edition leans strongly into the island's identity: a blended malt made from Islay malts, with a profile built around peat smoke, sea air and a distinctly maritime feel.
The 2025 release is shaped by its 2010 vintage and maturation in refill hogshead casks. In this case, the cask choice is about preserving aromatic purity and intensity rather than pushing heavy oak to the front. That allows the smoky, salty side of the whisky to remain central, while gentle wood, spice and fruit notes sit in support.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a whisky for drinkers who enjoy Islay when it speaks with a coastal, smoky (…)Ian Macleod's As We Get It Islay Cask Strength

Ian Macleod's As We Get It Islay Cask Strength

Ian Macleod's As We Get It Islay Cask Strength is a direct, full-powered take on Islay single malt: peated, non-chill filtered and bottled at cask strength. Rather than leaning on an age statement, it puts the focus on the whisky as it comes from the cask.
At 60.4% ABV, this is a whisky with real weight behind it. The label's reference to the old British 107 proof measure suits the style well, underlining the robust nature of the bottling. Its Islay origin comes through in the smoky, peaty side of the whisky, supported by a clear salty edge.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we would introduce to someone who enjoys Islay whisky in a more concentrated and less polished form. A drop or two of water is well worth considering, not to dilute the (…)Elements Of Islay Campfire Feis Isle 2025

Elements Of Islay Campfire Feis Isle 2025 is a Scottish blended malt from Islay with a clearly coastal, smoky identity. The Campfire name gives a good sense of its direction: peat smoke and salt are the main impressions, with the whisky built around that unmistakable island style.
Bottled at 54.5%, it has a firm presence in the glass. With no age statement given, the focus is less on age and more on composition and character: Islay malt shaped by smoke and salinity, supported by lighter touches of fruit, spice, wood and floral nuance.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we place among Islay whiskies for drinkers who enjoy peat with a briny edge rather than a soft, easy-going style. The Feis Isle 2025 reference gives the release its own moment (…)Ardbeg Supernova Committee Release

Ardbeg Supernova Committee Release is an Islay single malt with peat and salinity at the centre of its character. Bourbon cask maturation appears here as a supporting element, adding light wood influence, a touch of spice and a modest fruity edge around the smoky, coastal profile.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we would place this bottle among the scarcer Ardbeg releases rather than everyday drinking stock. It is a Committee Release, bottled at cask strength at 53.8%, with no age statement and marked as a collector's item. Ballechin 2014 Lmdw is a Scottish Highland single malt built around a clear peated character. It was drawn from a single Bourbon Barrel and bottled at cask strength, so the appeal here lies in the directness of one individual cask rather than a broader batch composition.
Distilled on 10 December 2014 and bottled on 23 July 2024, it spent 10 years maturing before being released at 58.4% alcohol. Only 225 bottles were produced, and with the final bottles now in focus, it has the naturally limited feel that makes a release stand out in the Drankenshop Broekmans whisky selection.
The flavour direction is led by peat, with lighter supporting notes of fruit, spice, salt, wood and a floral touch. The Bourbon Barrel influence frames the whisky without turning it into (…)Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 14

Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 14

Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 14 is a strong example of how Glengyle Distillery brings powerful peat together with the distinctive Campbeltown style. The malt is peated to around 45 ppm, yet the whisky is not simply about smoke. The oily, maritime and refined Kilkerran character remains firmly in place.
Maturation took place in 90% bourbon casks and 10% sherry casks, giving this batch a mix of freshness, sweet malt and added depth. Bottled at cask strength at 58.3%, without chill filtration and without added colouring, it comes across as a direct and energetic expression of the Heavily Peated series.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we would point out to drinkers who enjoy Campbeltown single malt in a more intense, smoky form. With the (…)Kilchoman Loch Gorm 10y 2025

Kilchoman Loch Gorm 10y 2025 stands out in the Loch Gorm line because it is the first edition to carry an age statement. After ten years of maturation, this Islay single malt brings together Kilchoman's peated signature with the depth and richness of oloroso sherry casks.
That meeting of styles is what gives this release its identity. Sherry maturation brings darker fruit, spice and sweetness, while peat, earthy tones and a salty edge keep the Islay side clearly in view. Bottled at 46%, it has enough presence to carry those flavours without making strength the main point.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this Loch Gorm 2025 as a particularly engaging choice for drinkers who enjoy Kilchoman with a fuller sherry-matured character. With only the last bottles (…)Ardbeg 1991 Over 30y Artist #13 (Signatory - Artist Edition) Incl. Box

Drawn from one Bourbon Hogshead and bottled at 47.7%, it was released in just 158 bottles. At Drankenshop Broekmans, bottles like this are the ones we tend to pause over: old Ardbeg, independent bottling, single cask origin and a very small outturn all in one place.
The stated flavour profile points toward a clearly Islay-driven style, with peat and salinity as the main lines. Wood, spice and fruit are present in a lighter role, so the interest lies in the combination of long maturation and (…)Lochindaal 2010 10y (The Whisky Agency)
