Villa Paradisetto Privateer 2017 (For Velier)
On request only
Villa Paradisetto Privateer 2017 is a molasses rum with a clear, assertive presentation. Bottled at cask strength at 54.2%, it keeps its power intact rather than moving toward a softened style. Distilled in 2017 and aged for three years in American Oak, it has the feel of a compact but expressive release.
The use of pot still and column distillation gives the rum an interesting balance between weight and definition. Its profile points most clearly toward fruit and spice, with oak and a light vegetal note sitting more quietly in the background. It is not built around sweetness; the emphasis is on energy, structure and flavour impact.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we place with rums that have a more specialist appeal. With the last (…)Hampden 8 Years Incl. Box

Hampden 8 Years Incl. Box

Hampden 8 Years is a Jamaican rum from Hampden Estate, made from molasses and distilled in pot stills. It has a clearly defined personality: fruit and spice are the main threads, with a style that feels more expressive than softly sweet.
Eight years of ageing in bourbon barrels adds a measured wood influence, supporting the rum rather than taking it over. At 46% alcohol, it has enough strength to carry its character with confidence.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, Hampden 8 Years is the kind of rum we like to introduce to customers looking for a Jamaican bottle with real presence. The combination of pot still distillation, Jamaican origin and stated age gives it a direct, characterful appeal.

Ricci Voltface N°2 from Famille Ricci is a molasses rum built around a meeting of Jamaica and Barbados. The blend is made up of 35% Jamaican rum and 65% Barbadian rum, giving the bottling a character shaped by contrast rather than by a single origin.
Distillation takes place in both column stills and Pot Stills, and the rum is made without additives. Its maturation in ex-Pineau des Charentes Blanc casks and new chestnut casks gives Voltface N°2 a distinctive frame, with spice, fruit and gentle wood influence forming the main thread. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a rum for drinkers who enjoy strength with real flavour definition.
At 66.4% ABV, this is unmistakably a cask strength release. The high strength brings intensity and warmth, but (…)A1710 Tricentenaire

A1710 Tricentenaire
On request only
A1710 Tricentenaire is a Martinique rum made from sugar cane juice, with its identity built around ageing and careful blending. It brings together exceptional rums matured between 6 and 20 years, followed by further maturation in French oak casks.
The combination of bourbon barrel influence and French oak gives this release a more developed, contemplative style. The wood is present without taking over, leaving room for spice, fruit and the deeper tones that come with mature rum.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a rum for drinkers who enjoy the more refined side of Martinique: layered, mature and shaped by time. Its story is carried by chocolate, leather, roasted flavours and candied fruit rather than by sweetness or sheer intensity.

Mhoba American Oak Aged is a South African rum made from sugar cane juice and distilled in a pot still. That gives it a different starting point from many molasses-based rums, with the raw character of cane sitting closer to the heart of the spirit.
The American oak ageing is given an extra dimension through a whisky finish. With no age statement, the focus falls less on a number and more on style: fruit and spice are the main threads, supported by gentle wood influence, a light floral touch and a subtle vegetal edge.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of rum we like to place in front of customers who want to explore how varied the category can be when cane juice, pot still distillation and cask influence come together. As these are the last bottles, (…)Port Mourant 2011 10y (Elizabeth Yard With Finishes)

Port Mourant 2011 10y from Elizabeth Yard is a molasses-based rum from Guyana, pot still distilled and bottled as a ten-year-old release. Its appeal lies in the directness of the bottling: one single cask, presented at cask strength, with its 53.03% ABV giving the rum a firm and unfiltered presence.
Matured in a bourbon barrel and limited to just 140 bottles, this is not a broad house style or a blended interpretation. It is a close look at one individual cask, selected and bottled with its own profile intact.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as the kind of rum that speaks to drinkers who enjoy limited, characterful releases with a clear origin and a clear structure. With only the last bottles remaining, it feels very much like a defined snapshot of (…)Uitvlugt 1998 18y Dd (The Nectar)

Uitvlugt 1998 18y DD is a Guyanese molasses rum with the clear identity of a single cask release. Distilled in 1998 and bottled in 2017 at 18 years old, it presents one particular cask rather than a broad house-style blend.
Matured in a bourbon cask and bottled at cask strength, 52.1%, it keeps a direct and unsoftened expression. The pot still distillation adds to the sense of a rum built around concentration, origin and the individual development of the cask.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this Uitvlugt stands out as a small-scale and increasingly scarce bottling, with only 225 bottles produced and the last bottles now indicated. Its profile points toward clear fruit and spice, with wood playing a supporting role rather than taking over.

Hampden Dok 2020 2y is a Jamaican molasses rum with a clearly independent-bottler identity. Released by The Nectar under the Daily Dram label, it was distilled in 2020 and bottled in September 2022 at 2 years of age.
The appeal here lies in its compact but forceful setup: pot still distillation, a single cask, cask strength bottling at 65.6%, and an Islay finish. Rather than leaning on sweetness, this rum is shaped by wood, spice and fruit, with the Islay cask adding an unusual angle to the maturation.
Only 228 bottles were produced, and with the last bottles now in circulation, this Hampden has a particularly distinctive place at Drankenshop Broekmans for drinkers who enjoy small-batch Jamaican rum with intensity and a less conventional cask influence.

Hampden 2012 9y (The Nectar - Daily Dram)

Hampden 2012 9y is a Jamaican molasses rum bottled by The Nectar under the Daily Dram label. Its appeal lies in its focused, small-batch nature: pot still distillation, maturation in a Bourbon Barrel, a single cask release and bottling at cask strength. At 60.8% ABV, this is a rum with real presence rather than a softened standard bottling.
Distilled in 2012 and bottled in September 2021, it spent 9 years maturing before being drawn from one individual cask. Only 257 bottles were released, so this is a narrow and clearly defined edition. With the final bottles now available, it has the kind of scarcity that naturally attracts attention among rum drinkers looking for something specific.

The Madeira finish adds an extra cask dimension, while the profile remains driven more by spice and fruit than by sweetness. Light wood influence, floral touches and a subtle vegetal edge sit in the background, giving the rum a more defined and less conventional shape.

His great-grandson and two master cane growers continue that story through a rum made from pure sugar cane juice.
The cane comes from two varieties, Canne Matos and Canne Rouge, grown on a 4-hectare plot. That gives this release a particularly focused identity: it is not just a rum from Guadeloupe, but a defined expression of cane, parcel and distillation.
