Uitvlugt 1998 18y Dd (The Nectar)
On request only
Uitvlugt 1998 18y DD is a Guyanese molasses rum with the clear identity of a single cask release. Distilled in 1998 and bottled in 2017 at 18 years old, it presents one particular cask rather than a broad house-style blend.
Matured in a bourbon cask and bottled at cask strength, 52.1%, it keeps a direct and unsoftened expression. The pot still distillation adds to the sense of a rum built around concentration, origin and the individual development of the cask.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this Uitvlugt stands out as a small-scale and increasingly scarce bottling, with only 225 bottles produced and the last bottles now indicated. Its profile points toward clear fruit and spice, with wood playing a supporting role rather than taking over.

Diamond 2000 16y Dd (The Nectar)

Diamond 2000 16y Dd is a Guyanese molasses rum with a decidedly small-batch feel. Distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2017, it spent 16 years maturing before being filled at cask strength, at 52.3% ABV.
The appeal here lies in the way several details come together: pot still distillation, bourbon cask maturation and a single cask release. With only 266 bottles drawn, this is not a broad house-style rum, but a focused look at one individual cask and its own maturation path.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, releases like this are valued because they show rum in a more specific, less standardised form. The last-bottles indication also makes clear that availability is now limited, giving this bottling an added sense of immediacy for those who enjoy distinctive single cask (…)Renegade Etudes New Bacolet

Renegade Etudes New Bacolet
On request only
Renegade Etudes New Bacolet is a Grenadian rum with a clear focus on sugar cane juice, origin and distillation style. Made on a pot still, it sits firmly in the more characterful side of rum, rather than in a soft, sweet-led direction.
At 55% ABV, it has real presence. The release is limited to 6000 bottles, giving it a defined place within the Renegade Etudes range without making it feel distant or inaccessible. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of rum we like to present to customers who are interested in where a spirit comes from and how it is made.
Its profile points to fruit and spice as the main themes, with lighter floral and woody accents around them. New Bacolet is therefore best understood as a firm, expressive rum built more around (…)Villa Paradisetto Privateer 2017 (For Velier)

Villa Paradisetto Privateer 2017 (For Velier)

Villa Paradisetto Privateer 2017 is a molasses rum with a clear, assertive presentation. Bottled at cask strength at 54.2%, it keeps its power intact rather than moving toward a softened style. Distilled in 2017 and aged for three years in American Oak, it has the feel of a compact but expressive release.
The use of pot still and column distillation gives the rum an interesting balance between weight and definition. Its profile points most clearly toward fruit and spice, with oak and a light vegetal note sitting more quietly in the background. It is not built around sweetness; the emphasis is on energy, structure and flavour impact.

Elizabeth Yard Sherry Cask is a blended rum with a deliberately layered make-up. It brings together high ester pot still rum from Ghana, aromatic sugarcane juice from Vietnam and single estate molasses from the Philippines. Rather than focusing on a single origin or one narrow style, it builds its character from contrast: tropical fruit, depth and a warm, energetic edge.
Sherry cask maturation adds a darker, richer tone to that foundation. The rum moves towards spice, ripe fruit and a creamy sense of weight, while staying away from a simple sweet profile. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as the kind of bottle that is worth taking time with, because the blend itself is part of the pleasure.
Bottled at 42.5%, it has enough strength to carry its aromatic (…)Mount Gay 2007 Last Ward Hab (Habitation Velier)

Mount Gay 2007 Last Ward Hab is a Barbados molasses rum with a firmly defined personality. Distilled in 2007, aged for 10 years and bottled at a cask strength of 59%, it is clearly made for those who appreciate rum with weight and directness rather than a soft, sweet-led style.
The pot still distillation and bourbon barrel maturation point the rum towards a profile where wood, spice and fruit all have a clear voice. It feels like a release built around structure and presence, with the strength left intact to keep that character close to the cask.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this bottling stands out among the stronger Barbados rums in the selection. With only the last bottles remaining, it is also a release whose availability is becoming increasingly narrow.

Mount Gay Black Barrel is a molasses-based rum from Barbados, bottled at 43%. Rather than leaning on an age statement, it presents itself through style: Barbadian rum, shaped by distillation choices and bourbon barrel maturation.
Its character is built on a combination of pot still and column distillation. That gives the rum more depth than a purely light style, while the bourbon barrel influence adds a restrained touch of wood. At Drankenshop Broekmans, Black Barrel sits comfortably among rums for drinkers looking for a fruit-led Barbados profile with a gentle spiced edge.

Ricci Belier by Famille Ricci brings together two Caribbean origins in one molasses-based rum: Jamaica and Belize. Its identity is built around that meeting point, supported by a combination of pot still and column distillation rather than a single, narrowly defined style.
The maturation took place in bourbon barrels, with 14 years in Jamaica and 16 years in Belize. That gives Belier its sense of depth: tropical fruit at the front, a clear spicy side, and enough wood influence to frame the rum without taking away from its fruit-driven energy.
At 56.5%, this is bottled at cask strength, so the concentration is immediately part of the experience. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a rum for drinkers who enjoy discovering how different Caribbean (…)Malecon 1982 Esplendida Incl. Box

Malecon 1982 Esplendida is a Cuban molasses rum distilled in 1982 using a traditional column style. That vintage reference gives the bottle a clear sense of place and time, making it more than a standard rum selection: the year, the origin and the maturation all help define its identity.
The bourbon cask maturation supports a profile built around wood influence, spice and fruit. It is not presented as a heavily sweet rum; the emphasis sits more on the interplay between cask character and distillate.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of rum we place in front of customers who appreciate context in the glass. Cuba, molasses, traditional column distillation and the 1982 vintage come together in a composed 40% bottling with a mature sense of style.

In stockTakamaka Zepis Kreol shows a distinctly aromatic side of rum from the Seychelles. It is built on molasses rum, made in a traditional column style, then macerated with locally grown herbs from the Seychelles. That maceration gives the rum its most recognisable identity: fragrant, spice-led and still carrying a clear fruity side.
After maceration, the rum spends 60 days in ex-bourbon casks. That short maturation adds a light touch of wood without pulling attention away from the spices. Bottled at 43%, it has enough strength to keep that aromatic character vivid in the glass.

Planteray OFTD, short for Old Fashioned Traditional Dark, is Planteray's take on the classic overproof rum style. It brings together rum from Guyana, Jamaica and Barbados and is bottled at a powerful 69% ABV, giving it the strength and density needed to stand firm in cocktails as well as in the glass.
The story behind it is very much a tasting-room story. Alexandre Gabriel and his team worked with seven deeply committed rum enthusiasts during a long development process, creating more than 1000 trial samples before choosing the final base for what they saw as the right rum cocktail foundation. OFTD may officially mean Old Fashioned Traditional Dark, but the more colourful origin of the abbreviation is part of its reputation.

Its ex-Bourbon cask maturation gives the rum an important part of its identity, while the bottling strength of 59.2% keeps it close to the cask.
