El Amparo
In stock
El Amparo is an Ecuadorian rum made from sugar cane juice, built around the Cubana Negra cane variety. The cane is grown and harvested according to traditional practices carried through three generations, giving this rum a strong sense of agricultural origin rather than a polished, anonymous style.
Fermentation begins naturally with indigenous yeasts in vats of 1000 to 3000 litres and lasts 5 to 7 days, depending on the sugar concentration of the must at harvest. Distillation takes place in a single run through a 500-litre copper pot still. The spirit leaves the still at around 60%, and this first batch of El Amparo was bottled at that still strength.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a rum with real immediacy. It is not driven by sweetness or wood, (…)Hampden 8 Marks 8*20cl

Hampden 8 Marks 8*20cl is best seen as a discovery set rather than a single-bottle rum. It brings together eight different marks from Hampden Estate in Jamaica, each in a 20 cl format, giving the drinker a way to explore several sides of the same estate in one giftpack.
The foundation is firmly set: molasses rum, pot still distillation and bottling at 60%. That strength underlines its cask strength presentation and gives the set a direct, uncompromising feel. There is no age statement driving the story here; the focus is on comparison, intensity and the differences between the marks.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this Hampden set sits comfortably among rums chosen for people who like to taste with attention, share a structured tasting, or give a rum gift with (…)Savanna Grand Arome 50cl (Old Brothers)

Bottled at 56.6% ABV as a cask strength rum, it has a forceful presence without needing to lean on sweetness or wood-driven notes. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we would introduce to someone looking for a rum with real pot still intensity and a bold aromatic signature.
