Riviere Du Mat 2006 Cuvee Hors D'Age
Very last one in stock!
Rivière Du Mat 2006 Cuvée Hors D'Age shows a distinctive side of rum from Réunion, built around sugar cane juice rather than a heavier molasses base. The emphasis is on the natural expression of the cane, carried by a style that combines fruit, oak and a restrained touch of spice.
Distilled in a traditional column and matured in oak casks, this 2006 vintage rum has a clear sense of place and time. The wood gives it structure, while the cane-juice origin keeps the profile lively and aromatic. It is bottled at 43%, giving enough presence without pushing the spirit into an overly forceful register.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of rum we would point out to someone looking beyond the familiar: a Réunion agricole rum with (…)Caroni Paradise 1998 #2 (Velier) Incl. Box

Caroni Paradise 1998 #2 (Velier) Incl. Box
Very last one in stock!
Caroni Paradise 1998 #2 is a Trinidad molasses rum bottled by Velier, distilled in 1998 and bottled in 2023. It comes from a single bourbon barrel and was released at cask strength, 56.3%, with only 230 bottles drawn from that one cask.
The interest here lies in the concentration of the release. This is not a broad, blended expression, but a very specific barrel selection with a clear sense of scarcity. As a collector's item and with the last bottles indicated, it occupies a special place among the more limited rums in the Drankenshop Broekmans selection.
Its profile is built around wood, spice and fruit, supported by lighter floral and vegetal notes. The data does not point toward a sweet style, so the emphasis is more on structure, cask influence and the (…)Caroni 1998 23y (The Nectar - Daily Dram)

Caroni 1998 23y (The Nectar - Daily Dram)

Caroni 1998 23y from Daily Dram is a Trinidad rum with a very clear identity: a single cask release, matured for a long period and bottled at cask strength. Distilled in 1998 and bottled in April 2022, this molasses rum spent 23 years in a bourbon barrel.
Its limited nature is central to the appeal. The Nectar released it under the Daily Dram label as a single cask bottling, with only 241 bottles drawn from that barrel. Together with the last bottles indication, it feels less like a standard rum release and more like a precise snapshot of one individual cask.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a rum for drinkers who appreciate a direct, undiluted style. Traditional column distillation, bourbon barrel maturation and bottling at 59% come together in a (…)Fiji 2004 17y Eli Yard (Elizabeth Yard Single Cask)

Fiji 2004 17y Eli Yard is a molasses rum with a very clearly defined identity. Distilled in Fiji in 2004 and bottled in 2022, it spent 17 years maturing before being released by Elizabeth Yard as part of its single cask range. It comes from one hogshead and was bottled at cask strength, at 52.7% ABV.
The appeal here lies in the precision of the release. One cask, only 250 bottles, and now marked as last bottles. Within the selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of rum that speaks to drinkers who enjoy limited bottlings with a clear sense of origin and maturation rather than a broad, blended style.
The rum was produced using pot still and column distillation, giving it an additional point of interest for anyone exploring Fiji rum in more detail. (…)Malecon 1992 30y 30th Anniversary

Malecon 1992 30y 30th Anniversary is a Cuban molasses rum, distilled in 1992 and aged for thirty years. That long span of maturation sets the tone straight away: this is a mature rum shaped by time, with wood influence playing a clear role alongside a developed fruity side.
Its bourbon barrel maturation supports a style that feels more composed than exuberant. The profile points to noticeable wood and fruit, with lighter touches of spice and floral character in the background. Multicolumn distillation adds to the sense of a controlled, polished rum rather than a heavy or rustic one.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a bottle for drinkers who enjoy older rum with a calm, grown-up presence. The 30th Anniversary name gives it a commemorative feel, but the (…)Hampden Lrok The Younger 3l

Hampden Lrok The Younger 3l is a Jamaican molasses rum from Hampden Estate, distilled in a pot still. It is the kind of rum where the essentials matter: origin, distillation style and a clear sense of identity, rather than an overloaded presentation.
Maturation in a bourbon barrel gives the rum a woody frame, with spice and fruit also clearly present in the profile. At 47% ABV it has enough strength to carry that style with confidence, while still keeping the focus on the rum itself.
The 3 litre format gives this Hampden real presence. At Drankenshop Broekmans, bottles like this are especially interesting when someone is looking for a Jamaican rum that stands out on the table as much as in the glass. The Bourbon Barrel produced only 219 bottles, and the remaining stock is now down to the last bottles. At Drankenshop Broekmans, bottlings like this are valued for the way they show a specific slice of rum maturation rather than a broader house style or blended composition.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we would place in front of someone who wants to explore a cane juice rum with some ageing, but without moving into a heavily mature style. The three-year age keeps it relatively lively, while the bourbon barrel adds structure and a distinct woody tone.

Bottled by The Nectar for the Daily Dram range, it is released at cask strength, 53.5%. The rum was drawn from a bourbon barrel and received a very short Oloroso cask finish from the bottler. That finish adds a final nuance, while the centre of gravity remains firmly with Hampden and the HGML mark.
Only 90 bottles were produced, which makes this a notably scarce release. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see a bottle like this less as an everyday rum and more as a piece of liquid (…)Jamaica 2008 (Berry Bros)

Temporarily sold out
Hampden Pagos 2023 has a very specific role in the story of Hampden Estate: it is the first release in the distillery's history to be matured entirely in sherry casks. The name Pagos refers to the Spanish term used for vineyard parcels in the Jerez region, so the link with southern Spain is built into the identity of the rum from the start.
For this bottling, Hampden Estate worked with Bodegas Fundador in Jerez. The rum was matured in prestigious 500-litre Oloroso casks that had been used in the solera process and had previously held Oloroso for up to thirty years. Those casks were then prepared for the intensity of Hampden's rum and transferred to the distillery.
