Dillon Wit 1l is a white rum from Martinique with a clear, expressive personality. As a sugar cane juice rum, it is built around the fresh character of the distillate rather than wood influence or sweetness. The profile points towards floral, spiced and fruity elements, with a lighter vegetal edge in the background.

At 55% alcohol, this Dillon has a firm presence. The traditional column distillation supports a clean and direct style, while the absence of an age statement and wood-driven profile keeps the focus firmly on the unaged white rum character.

A1710 La Perle Rare Bleue

On request only

A1710 La Perle Rare Bleue is a Martinique rum built around a very specific expression of sugar cane. It is certified organic, parcel-based and made from a single cane variety: B69-566, known as Canne Bleue. That gives the bottle a clear focus, with the cane itself at the centre of the story.

The sugar cane is grown on A1710's plot at Habitation du Simon. Rather than leaning on wood influence, this cuvée is about the character of one variety from one place. At Drankenshop Broekmans, that makes it a particularly interesting bottle to introduce when someone wants to explore rum through its raw material and origin.

Distilled in a pot still and bottled at 52.9%, La Perle Rare Bleue has enough strength to carry its floral, fruity and spicy sides with (…)

Clairin Casimir 2021

On request only

Clairin Casimir 2021 is a Haitian sugar cane juice rum from Barradÿres, released under the Velier name. Its identity is rooted in small-scale craft: Faubert Casimir grows white and red Hawaii cane on 50 hectares, continuing the legacy of his father Duncan.

The interest here lies in the way the fully ripe cane is handled. It is combined with fermenting pure cane sugar, while lemongrass leaves, cinnamon and sometimes ginger are added during distillation to deepen the aromatic character. Rather than showing a wood-led style, this clairin speaks through flowers, spice and fruit, with a light vegetal edge that keeps it close to the cane.

At 51.5% alcohol, Clairin Casimir 2021 has real presence, yet its appeal is not just strength. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we (…)

El Amparo

In stock

El Amparo is an Ecuadorian rum made from sugar cane juice, built around the Cubana Negra cane variety. The cane is grown and harvested according to traditional practices carried through three generations, giving this rum a strong sense of agricultural origin rather than a polished, anonymous style.

Fermentation begins naturally with indigenous yeasts in vats of 1000 to 3000 litres and lasts 5 to 7 days, depending on the sugar concentration of the must at harvest. Distillation takes place in a single run through a 500-litre copper pot still. The spirit leaves the still at around 60%, and this first batch of El Amparo was bottled at that still strength.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a rum with real immediacy. It is not driven by sweetness or wood, (…)
