Takamaka Le Clos Pineau 50cl

Takamaka Le Clos Pineau is a sugar cane juice rum from the Seychelles, pot still distilled and bottled at 54.8%. The Le Clos series is built around craftsmanship and cask influence, and this release takes its direction from a Pineau de Charente finish, adding a clear layer of wood, spice and fruit to its tropical foundation.
Rather than leaning on an age statement, this rum speaks through style and cask choice. The character suggested here is expressive and layered, with the Seychelles origin bringing the tropical side while the finishing cask adds depth and a more vinous accent. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we appreciate releases like this because they show how versatile sugar cane juice rum can become when the cask treatment is given a central role.

Patridom XO Islay Cask gives Dominican rum a slightly unexpected turn. At its core, it remains very much part of the Patridom range: rum from the Dominican Republic, made from locally grown sugar cane, distilled in a multi-column still and matured in the country's tropical climate.
Its distinctive voice comes from the second maturation. For this limited edition, the rum was given an extra finish in selected casks in the continental climate of warehouse 1423 in Denmark. The Islay Finish brings a smoky edge to a rum that also carries fruit, spice and a measured wood influence.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we like to present to customers who are curious about what a cask finish can add to rum. With the last bottles now in view, it has (…)Dominican Republic 2013 10y (The Nectar - Daily Dram)

Dominican Republic 2013 10y (The Nectar - Daily Dram)

Dominican Republic 2013 10y is a sugar cane juice rum with a clearly defined origin and maturation story. Distilled at AFD in the Dominican Republic, it was selected by The Nectar for the Daily Dram range after 10 years of ageing in bourbon casks and a final Virgin Oak finish.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, releases like this are valued for the way they show a specific cask rather than a broad house style. This is a single cask rum, bottled at cask strength, with only 341 bottles produced. That gives it a focused, small-batch character and a sense of directness in the glass.
Its appeal lies in the interplay between fruit, spice and noticeable oak. The Virgin Oak finish brings extra structure, while the rum remains tied to its cane juice origin and Dominican (…)Planteray Mauritius 2013 (Planteray Vintage)

Planteray Mauritius 2013 (Planteray Vintage)

Planteray Mauritius 2013 is built around a two-stage maturation. Distilled from molasses in Mauritius, it first spends 9 years in bourbon casks in Flic & Flac, before moving to Cognac Ferrand casks in Javrezac, France, for a further 2 years.
That journey gives this Planteray Vintage rum its main point of interest: Mauritian rum shaped further by a cognac cask finish. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we like to introduce to customers who enjoy seeing how place, time and cask choice can shape the final character of a rum.
At 11 years old and bottled at 46.5%, it has enough presence to carry its fruit, spice and wood influence clearly. With only the last bottles remaining, Mauritius 2013 is also becoming a less common chance to explore (…)Belize 2014 9y Travell (The Nectar - Daily Dram)

Belize 2014 9y Travell from Daily Dram is a molasses-based rum distilled at Travellers in Belize. Distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2023 after 9 years of maturation, it sits in a flavour territory where fruit, spice and oak all have a clear voice.
The rum was distilled in a traditional column style and matured in Virgin Oak, giving the bottling a firm, cask-driven personality. The Nectar bottled it under the Daily Dram label at full cask strength, 65.3%, keeping it close to its original form rather than smoothing everything out.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of rum that stands out because of its limited nature: a single cask release of only 164 bottles, now down to the last bottles. For drinkers exploring Belize rum with a powerful and distinctive (…)Belize 2007 13y (The Nectar - Daily Dram)

Belize 2007 13y (The Nectar - Daily Dram)

Belize 2007 13y from Daily Dram is a molasses rum with a very clearly defined origin and bottling story. Distilled in Belize in 2007 and bottled in November 2020 by The Nectar, it was drawn from a single bourbon barrel after 13 years of maturation. Rather than presenting a broad house style, it captures one specific cask at one specific point in time.
With only 260 bottles released and an alcoholic strength of 62.6%, this is a rum that keeps close to the cask. The strength gives the bottling a direct, unpolished feel, while the bourbon barrel background helps frame its wood, spice and fruit-driven profile.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as the kind of independent rum that rewards a closer look: Belizean origin, multicolumn distillation, single cask (…)Blackwell 007 Bond

The Bourbon Barrel reference brings a woody frame to the rum, while the mixed distilling style gives the impression of a profile built from several elements rather than one single dominant note. There is some sweetness, but it sits behind the fruit, spice and cask influence rather than taking over.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, Patrimonio sits among the more limited and characterful rum releases rather than everyday pours. Neisson Zetwal Sirius is a Martinique agricole rum with a strong sense of origin. Neisson is described as the smallest distillery on Martinique, with expertise passed down through three generations since 1932. That heritage matters here, because Sirius is made from Martinique sugarcane and carries AOC certification, placing the focus firmly on local terroir and careful craftsmanship.
As the second release in the Zetwal collection after Polaris, Sirius is presented in a crystal decanter. It brings together old vintages distilled between 2000 and 2013, matured in casks and refined year after year.
