Malecon 3y

In stock

Malecon 3y is a Cuban molasses rum, distilled in a traditional column style and aged for three years in bourbon casks. It belongs to the younger side of aged rum: the cask influence is present, yet restrained, giving the rum some structure without making wood the main subject.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, we like this kind of bottle for the way it shows a style clearly and without excess. Malecon 3y brings together light touches of wood, spice, fruit, floral character and sweetness, with no single element taking over the glass.

Bottled at 40%, it remains straightforward and easy to read. It is a concise introduction to a young aged Cuban rum made from molasses, shaped by three years of maturation but still focused on a clean, direct expression.

Ron Bodega 6y Cask Aged

In stock

Ron Bodega 6y Cask Aged is a molasses-based rum, distilled in a double pot still and matured for six years in carefully selected oak casks. The emphasis here is on craft and maturation: a rum with a full base from the still and a rounded cask-aged character from its time in wood.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as the kind of rum that works well for sipping, while still having enough structure for a more refined cocktail serve. The producer specifically mentions a Rum Old Fashioned, which makes sense given the combination of soft sweetness, fruit depth, gentle spice and elegant wood tones.

Bottled at 46%, it keeps a clear presence without losing its smooth, rounded feel. The style is warm and expressive, built around fruit, sweetness, subtle spice and (…)

Bonpland Rouge VSOP 20cl

In stock

Bonpland Rouge VSOP 20cl is a molasses-based rum bottled at 40%, with its character shaped by a Pinot Noir cask finish. That finishing choice gives this VSOP a different angle from a more straightforward rum maturation.

The rum brings together pot still and column distillation, giving it a production background that is broader than one single distilling style. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this small bottle as a good way to explore Bonpland Rouge, especially for drinkers interested in rum with a wine-cask finish.

The 20cl format keeps the discovery accessible without committing to a full bottle. With only the last bottles remaining, it is a particularly relevant choice for anyone who still wants to taste this specific Bonpland Rouge VSOP release.

Rumpublic Origins Ghana & Eswatini (Rum Public)

Very last one in stock!

Rumpublic Origins Ghana & Eswatini puts provenance at the heart of the bottle. It brings together rum from Ghana and Eswatini, so the name is more than a label; it is the main idea behind the blend.

The use of pot still and column distillation adds to that sense of composition. Rather than focusing on a single distilling route, this rum is built from different styles, with the blender's role taking centre stage. With no age statement, the emphasis sits on origin, blending and overall identity.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of rum we like to place in front of customers who enjoy exploring beyond the most familiar rum countries. Bottled at 41.5%, it has a little extra presence without turning the conversation into something overly technical.

In stock

Bacardi Gran Reserva Diez 10y is a molasses-based rum from Puerto Rico, with ten years of ageing at the heart of its identity. In this Gran Reserva, Bacardi brings the focus to maturation and cask influence, while keeping the overall profile measured rather than dominated by one particular flavour direction.

Multicolumn distillation and bourbon cask ageing define the framework of the rum. The supplied flavour profile points to light touches of wood, spice, fruit, floral character and sweetness, all present without one element taking over.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, we would present this bottle as an aged Puerto Rican rum with a clear Gran Reserva positioning: mature, cask-shaped and even in its expression. It is most interesting for the way its subtle accents (…)

Takamaka Extra Noir

In stock

Takamaka Extra Noir is a molasses-based rum from the Seychelles, bottled at 43%. What makes it interesting is the combination of pot still and column distillation, giving the rum a style that sits between structure and approachability rather than leaning on one single dominant feature.

Bourbon cask influence adds a matured, woody dimension, while the overall profile remains relatively layered: gentle sweetness, a touch of fruit, mild spice, a light floral note and restrained wood. The flavour profile is measured rather than heavy, bringing together light sweetness, a (…)

Canaoak

In stock

Canaoak is a molasses-based rum made with a combination of pot still and column distillation. That mix is the key point here: it brings together two different approaches to rum without relying on an age statement to define the bottle.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see Canaoak as a rum with an approachable style, yet enough nuance to make it worth taking a little time with. The flavour profile suggests gentle fruit, spice, wood, floral and sweet elements, with no single side taking over completely.

Bottled at 40% alcohol, Canaoak stays firmly within a classic rum expression, suited to drinkers looking for balance rather than heaviness. Additional information about the brand can be found at https://www.canaoak.com/

Malecon Rare Proof 17y Batch 2005 Incl. Box

Last one in stock!

Malecon Rare Proof 17y Batch 2005 is built around maturation and concentration. Distilled in 2005 and bottled in 2022, it carries a 17-year age statement and is presented at 51.2%, giving the rum a more assertive presence without making strength the whole point.

Made from molasses and traditionally column distilled in a Spanish-style approach, it was aged in re-burnt bourbon casks from the United States. That long cask ageing sits behind a flavour direction of ripe fruit, caramel, toasted wood and spice.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of rum we like to show to customers who want more depth than a straightforward sweet style, with age and cask influence clearly part of the conversation.

The aroma is rounded and enveloping, with dried (…)

Foursquare 2007 14y Tb (Thompson Brothers)

Very last one in stock!

Foursquare 2007 14y TB is a Barbados molasses rum released under the Thompson Brothers name. Its appeal lies in the way the details come together: distilled in December 2007, bottled in October 2022, aged for 14 years and drawn from a single cask.

Only 272 bottles were produced, so this is a tightly limited bottling rather than a regular release. The refill barrel points to a cask influence that stays in a supporting role, while the 57.1% strength gives the rum a firm, cask-strength presence.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, this sits well among rums chosen for drinkers who like a more focused view of Barbados rum through one individual cask. The flavour direction is not built around one dominant note; instead, it shows a light spread of fruit, sweetness, spice, (…)

Trinidad 10y Ao (Elizabeth Yard With Finishes)

In stock

Elizabeth Yard Trinidad 10y Ao is a molasses rum from Trinidad, distilled in 2011 in a traditional column style. It spent 10 years maturing, with American oak playing an important role in its ageing and refinement.

Its appeal lies in the small-scale nature of the release. This is a single cask rum, bottled at cask strength at 50.05%, with only 98 bottles produced. Rather than presenting a broad house style, it captures the character of one individual cask.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a rum for those who enjoy focused, limited bottlings where origin, wood influence and natural strength all remain clearly visible. The fact that only the last bottles remain adds to the sense of a release with a very narrow availability.

Dominican Rum 2013 10y Tb (Thompson Brothers)

| 1 review
In stock

Dominican Rum 2013 10y by Thompson Brothers is the kind of rum that speaks through a very specific release rather than through a broad house style. Distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2023, it comes from a single cask with a total outturn of 412 bottles. As one of the last bottles, it sits at Drankenshop Broekmans as a compact, clearly defined selection rather than a regular shelf-filler.

The rum comes from the Dominican Republic and is made from molasses using traditional column distillation. Maturation in Madeira wood gives the release its own frame, while the 54.8% cask strength bottling keeps the presentation direct and forceful.

Its appeal lies in that focused combination: ten years of age, one individual cask, a limited number of bottles and a bottler (…)

Malecon Rare Proof 13y + 2 Glasses Incl. Box

In stock

Malecon Rare Proof 13y + 2 Glasses has a more assertive personality than a classic easy-going sipping rum. Bottled at 50.5%, it keeps the strength and density suggested by the Rare Proof name, while remaining clearly built for tasting rather than simply for impact.

The supplied information points to a 2009 distillation and a 2022 bottling, after at least 13 years of maturation. Ageing in American oak bourbon casks gives a natural context to the caramel and wood notes found in the tasting description. Made from molasses and distilled in a traditional column style, it reflects a Spanish-style rum approach where maturity, spice and roundness play an important role.

At Drankenshop Broekmans, we would place this bottle in front of someone looking for a rum with (…)
