River Antoine Rivers
In stock
River Antoine Rivers is a rum from Grenada made from sugar cane juice and bottled at a striking 69% ABV. That strength is central to the way this rum presents itself: bold, direct and focused on the spirit's own character rather than on an overt wood influence.
With traditional column distillation and no age statement, the emphasis sits firmly on expression and intensity. The flavour profile points towards floral and fruity notes, supported by lighter touches of spice, sweetness and a vegetal edge.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of rum we would introduce to someone looking for a powerful sugar cane juice style with a clear sense of origin and plenty of presence in the glass. It is a bottle to approach thoughtfully, not one to rush.

Paranubes
On request only
Paranubes is a Mexican rum made from sugar cane juice, and that immediately sets the tone. Rather than leaning on a wood-driven style, it puts the raw material at the centre: floral, fruity and lightly vegetal, with the kind of directness that makes sugar cane juice rum so distinctive.
At 54% ABV, it carries real presence. The traditional column distillation supports a clear, focused style, allowing the cane-driven character to come through with intensity rather than heavy sweetness or oak influence.
Within the selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, Paranubes stands out for drinkers looking beyond the more familiar rum styles. It has found an audience among customers who enjoy a purer, more expressive take on rum, and these are now the last bottles available.

Clairin Vaval 2022
On request only
Clairin Vaval 2022 comes from Cavaillon in Haiti, where the Arawaks distillery produces rum in an artisanal way from fresh sugar cane juice. The cane variety is Madame Meuze, and that detail matters here: this is a spirit built around the direct expression of freshly pressed cane.
Fermentation is spontaneous, using wild yeasts naturally present on the sugar cane and in the surrounding air. Fritz Vaval then distils it traditionally in a pot still. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of rum we like to present when someone wants to understand how characterful and distinctive sugar cane juice rum can be.
Bottled at 53.3%, Clairin Vaval 2022 has strength, but its story is really about purity and origin: fresh cane juice, delicate floral notes, tropical (…)Takamaka Le Clos Napa Laz 53,4

Takamaka Le Clos Napa Laz 53.4 is all about showing sugar cane in its most direct form. This unaged rum from the Trois Frères distillery in the Seychelles is made from pure Seychellois sugar cane, naturally fermented and distilled in a pot still. With no added sugar and no wood influence, the focus stays firmly on the raw material itself.
At 53.4%, it has a clear sense of intensity, yet the style is not built around heaviness. The supplied profile points towards floral, spiced and fruity elements, with a light vegetal edge and only a modest sweetness. That makes the rum feel vivid and precise rather than rounded by oak or sweetness.
For Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottling that adds real character to a rum selection: a sugar cane juice (…)Clement Blanc 1l

Clément Blanc 1l is a white rum made from sugar cane juice, a style where the raw material takes the lead. With no wood influence indicated, the focus stays on a clean and direct profile: floral and fruity in tone, with a light spicy and vegetal edge beneath it.
Traditional column distillation supports that clear, fresh character. At 40% alcohol, it has enough presence without moving away from the approachable nature of a white cane juice rum. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we like to point out to customers who want a white rum built around cane freshness rather than oak or sweetness.
The 1 litre format makes it a practical bottle to have on hand, especially for those who enjoy this style regularly. As these are listed as last (…)Clairin Sonson 2023 Incl. Box

In the rum selection at Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle that speaks clearly of origin: direct, rural and shaped by the raw material rather than by polish.
This release is made exclusively from Madame Meuze sugar cane, a rare Haitian variety grown traditionally without chemicals. Distillation takes place in a traditional pot still, keeping the spirit close to the cane and to the terroir-driven identity of clairin.

Grogue Barbosa introduces a different side of rum: Cape Verde, sugar cane juice and a style that keeps the raw material close to the centre of the glass. Rather than leaning on wood influence, this bottle is shaped by a brighter, fruit-led profile with subtle supporting accents.
The pot still distillation and 45% ABV give it enough presence to feel expressive without turning the experience into something heavy-handed. Clairin Sajous 2021 is a Haitian sugar cane juice rum made by Michel Sajous, a third-generation distiller. His Distillerie Chelo was founded in 2004 on the family estate near Saint-Michel de l'Attalaye, surrounded by organically grown cane, including the rare Cristalline variety.
The interest here lies in how closely the spirit stays connected to the cane. Harvesting is done by hand between December and August, the fresh juice ferments naturally for 5 to 7 days with wild yeasts, and distillation takes place in a traditional bagasse-fired still, followed by a small column still. After a single 8-hour distillation, it is bottled without reduction; this release sits at 54.2% ABV.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this stands out as a rum where the voice of the raw (…)Kawama Carta Blanca

Neisson Dekolaj is a rum with a very precise sense of place. It is Neisson's first single-varietal rum, produced from Clos Godinot in Carbet, Martinique, a steep plot at 245 metres altitude with slopes reaching 35 degrees.
That hillside matters. The notable temperature shifts on the parcel allow the sugar cane to be harvested with a high sugar content, giving Dekolaj its expressive aromatic identity. Distilled in a traditional column and bottled at 52.5%, it carries real presence while keeping the direct, cane-driven clarity associated with agricole rum.
