Tamnavulin Double Cask is a Speyside single malt shaped by two stages of cask influence. It is matured in American oak and then finished in sherry casks, giving the whisky a soft, elegant and refreshing style rather than a heavy or smoky one.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this as a Tamnavulin for drinkers who enjoy fruit-led single malt with a creamy edge. The Double Cask name is meaningful here: the American oak maturation brings smoothness, while the sherry finish adds extra depth and roundness.
Bottled at 40%, it keeps an easy-going feel, yet the flavour description still has plenty to say: apple, honey, toffee, pear, peach and pineapple form the heart of the whisky, supported by a gentle spicy touch.
