Privateer 2017 5y Single Cask 430 Lmdw is an American rum with a very focused identity. It is made from pure sugar cane juice, distilled using pot still and column still methods, and bottled from a single cask at cask strength. At 57.8%, it keeps the intensity of the cask clearly in view.

Pot still and column distillation are both part of the production story, while the flavour direction points towards fruit and spice, with oak playing a supporting role rather than taking over.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see a rum like this as an appealing discovery for drinkers who enjoy precise, cask-driven releases. Bottled at 55.8% and now down to the last bottles, it has the feel of a compact, focused (…)
