Port Askaig 8 Year Old is named after a place rather than a distillery. Port Askaig sits on Islay's north-eastern coast, where the ferry leaves for Jura and where Bunnahabhain and Caol Ila are found nearby. That sense of place matters here: this is an Islay single malt shaped by peat, sea air and a clearly coastal identity.
Its maturation is built in two stages. The whisky first spends three years in traditional American oak, then continues for another five years in a mix of ex-bourbon casks, toasted American oak, PX sherry casks and refill hogsheads. The result is not just about smoke; the peat is clear, but it is supported by gentle wood influence, spice, fruit and a salty edge.

Port Askaig 100 Proof

Port Askaig 100 Proof marks the return of a much-loved classic to the permanent Port Askaig range. Bottled at 57.1%, it presents a strong, bourbon-matured Islay single malt with peat smoke, a salty edge and a clear sense of power in the glass.
First-fill bourbon casks shape the whisky with fresh citrus and sweeter notes, while the Islay peat remains firmly present. Produced in small batches, it has a direct, robust feel rather than the impression of a whisky polished into anonymity.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, we see this Port Askaig as a strong choice within our selection of characterful Islay malts. It is bottled without chill filtration and without added colouring, keeping the presentation close to the whisky's natural style.

Expected: 27/10/2026Port Askaig 15y shows a distinctly coastal side of Islay. This limited edition was put together from 30 refill hogsheads sourced from a distillery on Islay's north coast, giving the whisky space to express its maritime and smoky nature without being dominated by heavy wood influence.
At 15 years old and bottled at 50.5%, it has maturity and presence while keeping the directness that makes Islay so compelling. The refill hogsheads support the spirit rather than covering it, allowing salt, peat smoke, citrus and gentle savoury notes to come through clearly.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of Islay single malt we like to introduce when someone is looking for smoke with definition: coastal, saline and layered, with enough strength to carry its flavours (…)Port Askaig 25y New Incl. Box

Port Askaig 25 Year Old is an Islay single malt with real maturity behind it. This 25-year-old release is the second bottling in a series of older Port Askaig whiskies, ranging from 20 to 28 years. Each batch is limited, yet the range is designed so that a following release becomes available as stocks run low.
It has matured entirely in refill American oak hogsheads. That detail says a great deal about the style: the oak is present, but it does not dominate the whisky. At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we like to present as a mature Islay whisky where time, cask restraint and layered development matter more than sheer force.
Bottled at 45.8%, it has enough structure to carry its age and island character. Smoke, gentle salinity, spice and (…)Port Askaig 28y

Port Askaig 28y
On request only
Port Askaig 28y is a mature Islay single malt where age has softened the edges without taking away the island character. After 28 years, the peat and coastal side are still there, yet they feel more composed, more elegant and more layered.
Maturation in bourbon casks gives space to fruit, citrus and gentle sweetness, while dry wood, smoke and a light salty note keep the whisky firmly grounded in its style. At 45.8%, it has enough presence to carry its age, but the real attraction is the refined complexity that time has brought.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we would present as a thoughtful, mature interpretation of Islay rather than simply an old peated whisky. With 3000 bottles released and the last bottles now in view, Port Askaig 28y (…)Port Askaig 30y

Port Askaig 30y

Port Askaig 30y shows Islay single malt in a mature, composed form. This third edition is especially noteworthy because it is the first Port Askaig 30 year old to be bottled at cask strength, giving the whisky a more direct expression of its long ageing while keeping the soft, smoky profile described for this release.
The bourbon cask influence supports the fruit, citrus and dry wood notes without pushing the island character into the background. Smoke, gentle salinity and a mineral edge remain part of the experience, but the whisky speaks with the calm depth of a long-aged dram rather than with raw intensity.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this is the kind of bottle we see as particularly meaningful for drinkers looking for an older and increasingly scarce Islay (…)Port Askaig 45y Incl. Box

Port Askaig 45y is an Islay single malt where the age statement immediately matters. A 45-year-old whisky from Islay is already a rarity, and this release goes further with spirit distilled in 1968. It carries the feel of an older era of Islay whisky, with a depth and maturity that give the bottle real presence.
The whisky is an assemblage of five sherry casks, brought together one year before bottling. Rather than focusing on a single cask, this Port Askaig is built around the meeting point of long maturation, sherry cask influence and the island character of Islay.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this bottle naturally belongs among the more remarkable releases for those who appreciate aged Scotch whisky with a strong sense of origin. Its 45 years, 1968 distillate (…)Port Askaig Cask Strength Batch 2

Port Askaig Cask Strength Batch 2
On request only
Port Askaig Cask Strength Batch 2 is built around a place rather than a distillery name. Port Askaig sits on the north-eastern coast of Islay, where the ferry leaves for Jura, with Bunnahabhain and Caol Ila nearby. That gives this single malt a clear Islay setting while keeping its exact identity deliberately tied to the Port Askaig style.
Batch #02-2024 is bottled at cask strength, 59.1%, and is drawn from no more than 60 casks. The make-up is clearly stated: PX, oloroso butts and hogsheads, refill butts and hogsheads, plus a small proportion of bourbon barrels. It reads less like a fixed house bottling and more like a defined batch with its own particular voice.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this sits naturally among the more powerful Islay malts: peated, (…)Port Askaig Sherry Cask

Port Askaig Sherry Cask
Temporarily sold out
Expected: 27/10/2026Port Askaig Sherry Cask shows the deeper, more powerful side of Islay single malt. Fully matured in carefully selected Oloroso casks, it brings together the dark richness of sherry maturation with the unmistakable presence of peated Islay whisky.
The emphasis is on dark chocolate, dark fruit and spice, carried by a firm thread of peat smoke. Bottled at 50.5%, non-chill filtered and with no added colouring, it keeps a full and direct style in the glass.
At Drankenshop Broekmans, this Port Askaig stands out for drinkers who enjoy a robust Scottish single malt where Oloroso depth and Islay smoke are clearly part of the same story.

Port Askaig Sherry Quarter Cask The Nectar
On request only
Port Askaig Sherry Quarter Cask The Nectar is a focused Islay single malt built around a small batch of casks filled in 2014. The whisky comes from a distillery on the island's north coast and was drawn from three refill bourbon hogsheads alongside one sherry hogshead, giving this release a clearly defined cask story.
Its limited nature is part of the appeal. Only 1476 bottles were released, exclusively for Belgium and Luxembourg, so this is not a widely available core expression. At Drankenshop Broekmans, we appreciate bottlings like this because they give Islay drinkers something specific to explore: peat, spice and coastal character shaped by a compact batch of bourbon and sherry casks.
The profile is smoky and spiced, with lighter touches of fruit, salt (…)
