Cardhu 12y appears here in a more individual form than many drinkers will know from the distillery's regular releases. Douglas Laing selected a single Refill Hogshead for its Old Particular range and bottled it at natural cask strength, 58.5%. The result is a Speyside single malt presented with very little distance between the cask and the glass.
Only 274 bottles were drawn from this cask. It is non-chill filtered and bottled without added colouring, keeping the focus on the whisky as it came from maturation. The refill wood plays a supporting role, allowing the malt, orchard fruit and gentle spice to remain at the centre of the experience.
