About KILCHOMAN
Kilchoman werd gesticht in 2005 op de westkust van Islay door Anthony Wills en is één van de kleinste distilleerderijen van Schotland. In die tijd was het de eerste distilleerderij die op het eiland gebouwd werd in 125 jaar.
Met momenteel 8 mashes per week produceren de stills slechts een 170.000 liter distillaat per jaar. In termen van gevulde vaten praten we over een 25-tal barrels per week. Het geheel van deze productie zal Kilchoman single malt worden.
Als farm distillery, voor de versie 100% Islay, is Kilchoman zonder twijfel het enige merk dat zelf het gehele proces van whisky productie, van de teelt van het graan op eigen grond over het mouten tot distillatie en rijping dus van gerst tot fles, laat gebeuren. Het grootste deel van de whisky die Kilchoman produceert, rust op ex-bourbon vaten die exclusief van Buffalo Trace uit Kentucky komen. Zij worden naar Schotland gebracht zonder te worden gedemonteerd om de aromas die in het hout gedrongen zijn zoveel mogelijk intact te houden. Hoewel de Machir Bay, de vaandeldrager blijft van Kilchoman (gouden medaille tijdens de International Wine & Spirits Competition 2015), stelt de distilleerderij vanaf nu toch een breed gamma permanente, speciale of gelimiteerde versies voor. Deze worden steeds gemarkeerd door een grote zorg voor authenticiteit en kwaliteit.

Will my product be properly packaged?
All our orders are packed with the utmost care in sturdy cardboard shipping boxes, and filled with environmentally friendly crumpled cardboard to prevent damage to the bottle and packaging. We try to avoid the use of bubble wrap and other plastic as much as possible.
However, certain boxes and tubes are extremely sensitive to any form of packaging, and a package also goes through a lot before it is delivered to your front door. We offer you the assurance of completely flawless packaging in our shop in Zolder.
Can I ask questions about the product specifications?
Our team strives to supplement photos and product specifications with the utmost care and to keep them up-to-date. Unfortunately, this is not always possible, especially for products with a high rotation, products with multiple versions/packaging and products that are released several times under the same name/denominator/barcode, each time with a different lot number or different bottling date. Because the basic product is the same in such cases, we do not make a distinction in our webshop and we deliver what is in stock at that time.
If you are looking for a very specific release of a product, e.g. to supplement your collection, it is best to contact our customer service in advance so that we can physically check this for you before you place your order . This way we prevent disappointment and unnecessary sending of bottles back and forth.
If the product you received does not match the product information that we communicated in advance, you can choose to return this bottle to us and obtain a return label from our customer service.
Why can I only enter a certain number?
In our webshop you can never order more than the quantity that we can immediately deliver from our stock at that time. For larger quantities, please contact our customer service. In addition, exceptionally popular releases can also be limited in number per customer account.
Can I pick up my online order in your shop?
