The name Kawama derives from the mythological context of the turtle "Caguama", once revered by local tribes as the mother of humanity. Even after several centuries and Spanish rule, the tradition remains alive. Cuban rum "Kawama" adopts the spirit and symbol of the Caribbean turtle and is now drunk all over the world.
