About CARONI
Caroni werd opgericht in 1923 op het terrein van de oude suikerfabriek, met zowel kolom- als potstills, en produceerde rum met een kenmerkend zwaar profiel die werd geleverd aan de Britse marine. Ondanks protesten werd het bedrijf in 2001 door de regering van Trinidad verkocht aan Angostura, waarna het in 2002 werd gesloten. Maar wacht, dat was niet het einde van de Caroni distilleerderij! De wind van het lot keerde toen Luca Gargano tijdens een bezoek aan Trinidad in 2004 hoorde van een pakhuis vol vaten rum in de verlaten distilleerderij. De vaten werden opgekocht, gebotteld en verkocht en worden nu verwoed gezocht door verzamelaars.

Why can't I pay with Klarna?
While we did indeed offer this payment method in the past, Klarna was recently removed from our payment tools due to unethical behaviour from this payment provider that we as a company do not support.

To our regret, the transaction fees on Paypal payments are so high that we cannot accept this payment method without also passing on a very high transaction fee to our customers.
As we have a fundamental problem with excessively high transaction fees that unnecessarily cost us or our customers, we have made the choice not to accept Paypal transactions on our webshop at present.

Will my product be properly packaged?
All our orders are packed with the utmost care in sturdy cardboard shipping boxes, and filled with environmentally friendly crumpled cardboard to prevent damage to the bottle and packaging. We try to avoid the use of bubble wrap and other plastic as much as possible.
However, certain boxes and tubes are extremely sensitive to any form of packaging, and a package also goes through a lot before it is delivered to your front door. We offer you the assurance of completely flawless packaging in our shop in Zolder.
Can I ask questions about the product specifications?
Our team strives to supplement photos and product specifications with the utmost care and to keep them up-to-date. Unfortunately, this is not always possible, especially for products with a high rotation, products with multiple versions/packaging and products that are released several times under the same name/denominator/barcode, each time with a different lot number or different bottling date. Because the basic product is the same in such cases, we do not make a distinction in our webshop and we deliver what is in stock at that time.
If you are looking for a very specific release of a product, e.g. to supplement your collection, it is best to contact our customer service in advance so that we can physically check this for you before you place your order . This way we prevent disappointment and unnecessary sending of bottles back and forth.
If the product you received does not match the product information that we communicated in advance, you can choose to return this bottle to us and obtain a return label from our customer service.
Why can I only enter a certain number?
In our webshop you can never order more than the quantity that we can immediately deliver from our stock at that time. For larger quantities, please contact our customer service. In addition, exceptionally popular releases can also be limited in number per customer account.
Can I pick up my online order in your shop?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to collect your online order from our shop. This is because the physical processing of online orders does not take place in our shop in Zolder.
In which countries can I have my order delivered?
Because of national excise legislation, each target market in which we operate has a separate webshop environment. You can order on all these environments with one customer account. Prices, delivery costs and ordering conditions differ per target market.

What are the shipping costs?
On this website, we only ship within Belgium. The following shipping rates for home delivery apply:
- Standard for orders up to €60: €10.99
- Reduced for orders from €60 to €150: €6.99
- Free for orders from € 150 !
If you choose direct delivery to a Post Point or Pakjesautomaat in our checkout, you will also immediately benefit from cheaper shipping rates:
- Standard for orders up to € 60: € 9.99
- Reduced for orders from €60 to €150: €5.99
- Free for orders from €150 !
Purchased gift vouchers and postcards never count towards the order amount, and cannot be cited to claim reduced shipping costs.

What payment options do I have?
At Drankenshop Broekmans, you pay orders up to €5,000 securely online and free of transaction fees via Multisafepay with:
Bank transfer (no transaction fees, but extra processing time of 1 to 3 days, also for an "instant payment")
You choose the desired payment method when completing your order.
Stricter transaction limits may apply to some payment methods to protect your account.
To our regret, the transaction fees on Paypal payments are so high that we cannot accept this payment method without also passing on a very high transaction fee to our customers.
